black (237)

First, I list the words “Black and African” in this commentary with a slash because I view these words to be interchangeable. I believe that all Black people are some type of African people, given the evidence, so I don’t debate it.  Next, I am not a professional writer, nor do I plan to be.  There’s already enough Black scholars, writers, professional speakers, etc. What we need are more doers, more problem solvers, more sound-minded strategic leaders.  I try to be one of the Black folks menti

“SHOOTING IS LINKED

TO BLACK HEBREW ISRAELITES”

https://edition.cnn.com/2019/12/12/us/jersey-city-new-jersey-shooting-thursday/index.html

Ashkenazi “Jews” have for decades wanted to discredit and disparage Black Hebrew Israelites, and they have sought every means to quiet talk of our being descended from the Biblical Israelites. Though the recent shooting incident in Jersey City was a tragedy for the victims and the shooter, it is very unfair for the news media to blame this incident on the thousa

Here’s my opening quote for our time together: “Politics will improve before the American public, as more and more honorable and upright men fill the ranks of public servants.” I trust that I have given an upright man the inspiration to step into the ring, and run for public office.

Your fellow citizens need you…especially in these last days.

One of the best pieces of advice I got in terms of living the Christian life in a fallen society came from the late Pastor E. V. Hill. In one

From Player To Coach by Mike Ramey

A few years back, Ty Willingham, Head Coach for the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame, was interviewed about a tough, upcoming game. The TV interviewer seemed more nervous about the game than the coach, as they asked Willingham about his strategy to deal with a very potent opponent’s running and passing game.

“We’ll adjust our offense, accordingly.” Said Coach Willingham.

The adjustments paid off, as Notre Dame ran over the opposition with little sign of trouble. It was the OTHER team th

Great political quote from the late Democrat President Harry Truman: “An honest public servant can’t become rich in politics. He can only attain greatness and satisfaction by service.” Keep in mind that Truman was one of those politicians that no one wanted as Vice President (just like Teddy Roosevelt). FDR died suddenly, and Truman became President. If you know your history, one of the things that happened on his watch; Israel became a nation, and the U.S. was the first nation to recognize

TO REBUILD A PEOPLE

Every few years, it seems, a group of Blacks get together to come up with ‘The Black Agenda’. The cameras flash and speeches are made…but nothing seems to get done. Recently, I happened to sit in upon such a gathering, and was sorely disappointed with the discussions. You see, those of us who have a touch of gray in our hairlines, and have lived through the turbulent sixties know full well that we, as a people, successfully fought for--and won--many rights that were due u

A true story to lead off in our batting cage warm-up session.

A young man, out for his first political office, won the primary and defeated his challenger from within his party by a two-to-one margin. He was looking forward to taking a few weeks off and resting up for the campaign trail to the general election in November. Life--and his party--had other plans. The incumbent of his party that held the seat he was campaigning for suddenly resigned, and vacated the seat.
Remember how I menti

Brothers, allow me to slip in a few things about the media and politics, as we begin our time together this month.

*First, make neither one--media or politics--your god OR idol. Your risk of getting hurt or deceived will be GREATLY reduced. BOTH of them are a game; a pursuit to be understood, mastered and, if possible, overcome with a political victory.

*Second, do NOT be afraid of either or them. Some media people and politicians rely on intimidation, bluff or bluster. God does NOT create a spiri

I discovered The Ivy Investor financial expert advice blog in the Stocks and Stilettos Society Facebook Group and I am glad I did! So when I had to opportunity to hear Courtney Richardson, The Ivy Investor, speak at her Investing 101 Class hosted by Dream Catchers: Harrisburg Chapter, I had the opportunity to ask her a few questions about her feature in Black Enterprise, her opinion on the Tulsa Real Estate Fund, and how to aggressively to invest in cannabis.

BLACK AUGUST - Our Time!

Black August isn’t for just celebrating Ourstory, it also is for reflecting on it and using it to create solutions to our issues.  It is a month to focus specifically on all the New Afrikans in Ourstory that refused to be enslaved or unjustly imprisoned, or those that have lost their lives in the struggle for our humanity and historic figures and events who were birthed in the month of August.  Black August is a tribute to the New Afrikan Warrior Spirit expressed by Soledad Brother George Jackso

I am for anything that is provides and evidence-based solution to ending gentrification in black neighborhoods that displaces people, eradicates redlining, prevents inhabitable and un-affordable housing that is unsafe, in communities that are over policed and taxed disproportionately. Something certainly has to give. I am not 100% sure the Tulsa Real Estate Fund is the answer, but I do admire the effort.
