"You Can't Put Enough Lipstick on This Pig of His to Make It Look Pretty"

Members of the Project 21 black leadership network are commenting on - and available for interviews about - President Barack Obama's final State of the Union Address.

While starting out talking about alleged areas for potential bipartisan accomplishment, the agenda President Obama quickly pivoted to and championed throughout the rest of his speech to Congr

JUSTICE OR ELSE?

In reality if there is no serious response from our people after all that marching in the streets and demanding justice, etc. Then we will not be a force to be reckoned with. The police will continue to assassinate our people with impunity and nobody should say nuffin no more.

How can we make any kind of impact or change if we are too weak, brainwashed and conditioned to stop participating in their holidays? I always say that this time of year is the most blatant celebration of w

The “Let’s Paint” women’s fashion collection created for spring and summer of 2016 offers a splash of colorful contrast against black silhouettes. Fashion Designer, Delia Alleyne introduced the line during the September 2015 market week in New York City. The looks include rompers, jackets, funky trousers and that classic little black dress. The “Let’s Paint” collection is splashy, bold and is styled with a retro artist’s cap that makes the collection reminiscent

This blog is part of a series of articles to recognize unsung heroes who were active in the Black Power Movement.  The Chad School was an independent Black educational institution in Newark, New Jersey that was established and supported by the Black Youth Organization. Following is a summary of the founding organization and an interview with former administrator, Babatu Y. Olubayo.

Daniel%2BHoltzclaw-2.jpgNB Commentary: It boggles the mind that people fall apart when the gavel comes down on their heads, when they had no compunction when bringing the gavel down on another's. This happens over and over again. The serial killer doesn't want to die... the serial rapist fears being raped.. What is it and where is the disconnect? How do you explain this in any logical terms? One guilty verdict is enough.....to send this man whirling into the path of destruction..... there were too many to count in this

I recently saw a documentary of the Black Panther Party that aired at the E Street Cinema in Washington, DC.  It was the most compelling and accurate portrayal of the organization that I have seen.  Many have sought to demonize the young Black activists and their efforts have gone largely unrecognized.  The documentary is a collection of news clips and interviews with authentic voices. It puts to rest the contention that the Black Panther Party was a terrorist organization and/or a hate group. I

Chase$tacks ‼️‼️

The East Coast is known as the birth place of Hip Hop. The next rapper up to bat is Javin Copeland a/k/a Chase$tacks, born August 12th with the heart of a lion. Paterson, NJ provided the environment to write the best songs to the soundtrack of Chase$tacks' life. We sat down with Chase$tacks and asked, "When did you realize that this is what you wanted to do?" He replied, "Once everyone started telling me to keep going and don't let nobody stop you! That's when I knew this was for

Often, when we discuss the African freedom struggles during the 1960s and 1970s, the discussion centers around the struggles, achievements, and people who were active in the Civil Rights Movement. During the same time, there were many other movements. One was the Black Power Movement. A number of leaders in that movement remain unsung heroes. In the following articles I will present twelve (12) African Americans Leaders in two parts. The first part will be a summary of their organization. The se

The Invisible Black Republican

image002.jpgBy Raynard Jackson, Columnist

I have been asking and will continue to ask, where are the Black Republicans?  Race will be one of the top issues in the 2016 elections and none of our presidential campaigns have any Blacks in the media representing their respective campaigns.

Why in the hell do Republicans continue to have white staffers try to address racial issues within the Black community?  Are these campaigns really that stupid?

Black Republicans have absolutely no presence in the media when

From “us” to “WE”

www.iamoneofthemillion.com

Listening to conscious black talk radio programs as I often do, I am struck by the frequency with which callers, and occasionally even the guests, make statements about what “we” need to do about some issue of concern to black people. Invariably, actions they call for would require that “we” be organized as a prerequisite to any potential success; thus my question: How do “we” expect to accomplish anything that requires “us” to become

Ferguson, Missouri - One Year Later

by Charles E. Campbell, Founder & CEO of The Quiet Resolution, TQR, Inc.

8/10/15

A clear example of Black Leadership Failure at every level one year later after the murder of Michael Brown.  From The White House of President Obama and his Administration to Black Mayors, Black Preachers and Black Organizations, who have done nothing to address the "Apartheid-like" conditions under which Black African Americans live in America in 2015.

Africans,

If we are to win Black Power in MertoEast in Saint Louis, Missouri, we must deal with the issue of crime there. I have decided to go for it. I need your feedback and input. I think this is the right approach is for no other reason that it is unavoidable. Every time I deal with Brooklyn or Washington Park, I am confronted with corruption and prostitution. I have concluded that prostitution is at the root of nearly all of our social problems in the African community, out of wedlock childb

Hands Up - Don't Shoot

Contrary to the refrain from the tragic Ferguson, Mo., shooting of Michael Brown, we know that keeping your hands up does not mean you will not be shot. Assata Shakur had her hands up when she was shot on the New Jersey turnpike by a State Trooper, Oscar Grant was laying face down on a subway platform when he was shot in the back by a Bay Area Transit cop, Sean Bell was executed in a hail of bullets by a half dozen N.Y. city cops while sitting in a car, and Trayvon Martin fought to defend himsel

I have so much to share that I really do not know where to begin.  Right or wrong, I will start by saying that “Cheryl” did great by posting “Africans and their obsession with other people's religion”.  I do not know “Cheryl” and never heard of her, and I don’t yet know what all she believes.   Nevertheless, the information she brought forward is right on

Democratic Rep. Bobby Rush, who has been in office since 1993, isn't much of a presence in the district or on Capitol Hill. He took a leave of absence to deal with his wife's illness, no doubt a big reason he missed more than a third of votes in 2013. Bu

OPEN LETTER TO LAURA WASHINGTON REGARDING A BLACK AGENDA

Dear Ms. Washington:

This is in response to your article written in September 29, 2014 edition of the Sun-Times. My name is Jimmy Lee Tillman, II and I am an independent republican candidate for the US House of Representatives 1st Congressional District with a strong African-American agenda.
