Every time a Black man or woman is brutally gunned down by cops, the police are commended on their service to the public. Nothing was any different with the two Black men murdered by cops in Baton Rouge and in Minnesota. Without any investigation, police officers received accolades and nothing was said of the grieving family members.
Constantly we hear about good cops, but are they still good cops if they turn a blind eye to the evils of racist cops? How can we not forget the cop who took a s

Hello All:
Recently registered Rep-ugh-blican, Raynard Jackson posted a critical article stating that the Republican Party had abandoned him. And he took umbrage to some of their racist tactics. But, as you will read, he copped out in the end, and his conclusion left a lot to be desired. So I wrote the following response to his statement. You can read his complaint, and see if you agree with my response. His article follows my response:

Hey You Guys!!!!!
You know, my good friend Jack D. sent these to me, and I tried to send them out to everybody via regular email; but apparently they didn't come through as I had intended.
So I guess this is truly a bloggable moment that could not be denied.

NAACP Victorious in Overturning Voter ID in Texas
by Gloria Dulan-Wilson
Kudos to the NAACP for having won a major victory in Texas in the ongoing fight against the rep-ugh-blicans efforts to drag us backwards into the 19th century: the federal court struck down the Texas Voter ID law, stating it unfairly discriminated against “communities of color and was, therefore, in vioilation of Section 5 of the 1965 Voting Rights Act.” Hopefully this will send a clear signal to other states that are trying t |

I am not a religious person, but I do have a deep and abiding faith in God the Living Spirit Almighty. And you know, you just gotta give God a lot of praise because he just keeps handing us these monumental gifts, signs and wonders, despite the fact that we keep squandering them, and then begging for mercy for our errors.
First, He gives us President Barack Obama</span> to lead us out of the mess that the Bush administration and his predatory supporters put us in,

It's 3:00 AM, and I'm going through my emails – something, being a night owl, I do routinely, in preparation for writing, or researching for my blog or a news article – when I see Bill Cosby's name in the subject line of an email. So, of course I zoom in on it because, anything about Cosby I'm going to read. He's one of my heroes.
What I read made me sad, then disappointed, and finally angry. It was an online response to an article that has been circulating the intern

After months of speculation, Mitt Romney has finally settled on his Vice President choice, Paul Ryan. Of course many Republican conservatives are elated with this choice, as Ryan represents everything they like: smaller government, tax breaks for the rich, eliminating social programs, and a "dog-eat-dog" capitalism that leaves many poor, hungry and disenfranchised.
Democrats are equally pleased with the pick as Paul Ryan represents an easy target to rail ag
On May 15, I posted "President Obama's Stand on Same Sex "Marriage" in my Blog www.gloriadulanwilson.blogspot.com. This evening I received this email from one of my Oklahoma Homies in response to that posting. President Barack Obama's support of same sex "marriage." has caused consternation, controversy and jubilation - depending on the person and their persuasion. There have been many - particularly the ecclesiastical community - who have threatened to withdraw
I am forwarding a copy of a petition sent to me and other signatories, urging (insisting) that the Supreme Court reverse their so called "Citizens United" law, which makes it possible for corporations to contribute to political campaigns as though they were individual human beings, instead of entities in perpetuity.
Below is my cover letter, the link to the petition, and an article from the online publication, Reader Supported News. Read it, sign the petition, pass it on to all your co

Mayor Ernie Davis' swearing in as Mount Vernon's 21st mayor, and, as the first New York mayor to go back and successfully win his old seat (at least in Mt. Vernon's history), is a sign that this year is going to be absolutely fantastic - that is, if we do what we're supposed to do, individually and collective

How long will the Congressional Black Caucus (CBC) continue to behave like a person who has been diagnosed with erectile dysfunction (ED) and has been prescribed Viagra by his doctor?
The male psyche is extremely fragile and when the doctor prescribes Viagra to him, initially it is a huge blow to his ego. Then, there is an initial state of denial, followed by acceptance.
So it is with the CBC and their relationship with President Obama. Obama has all but ignored

On Tuesday, January 25, 2011, President Barack Obama will deliver his second State of the Union address, as called for by the U.S. Constitution. This will also be his fourth speech to a joint session of Congress. It is hoped that there will be no more of the egregiously disrespectful conduct exhibited by South Carolina Congressman Joe Wilson, with his “You lie!” outburst(a violation for which

Two nights ago, President Obama delivered his annual State of the Union address and, as usual, he declared the state of our union is good. No president has ever said anything differently. Every president is only going to put the best face on the state of affairs in our country.
But, the state of our union is not great. We have runaway deficits, high unemployment, unbridled partisan bickering, crumbling infrastructures (bridges, roads, etc.), and a Congress wi

I rarely agree with anything Secretary of Defense Gates says so today will be a breakthrough. I think of this
in response to a statement that someone made about how President Obama was spending all kinds of money on frivolous programs. First Republican Eric Cantor said that President Obama was adding more to the national
debt than ever. When that statement was proven false, a republican on Facebook twisted the argument to try to claim that somehow the rate of spending was stil
