Are Race relations any better due to having a Black president

I want to share some thoughts with you, to find out how you view this. With the successful election of President Obama, many expected a new era ( I did not, did you?) in race relations when he took office. I personally think the racial divide is so deep, it will be almost impossible to establish sane, stable, race relationships in these United Sates.
