Originally, I wasn’t going to write about radio talk show entertainer Glen Beck’s supposed “March on Washington;” but, because you, my readers, asked me to comment, I will.

The event was called, “Restoring Honor.” Its stated purpose was to be a “celebration of America’s heroes and heritage. So, I have a few questions that I wish Beck would have addressed. You can only restore that which was lost. So, what in Beck’s mind was lost and how is he going to restore it?

The Ministry of Foreign Relations says that the increase in drug trafficking in the DR is the result of demand for drugs from the United States. Foreign Relations Minister Carlos Morales Troncoso was reacting to a statement by the US Embassy charge d'affaires Christopher Lambert who recently commented on the participation of drug trafficking in the Dominican economy.

I was honored to be asked to be the moderator for the Maryland Black Mayors, Inc. (MBM), county executive forum for Prince George’s County, MD (see picture above). Prince George’s County is the wealthiest predominately Black county in the United States. It is considered a suburb of Washington, DC.

Did you know that every three minutes, another woman in the United States is diagnosed with breast cancer? Ididn't, and I was shocked to learn how prevalent this horrible disease has become in this country. So shocked, in fact, that I've committed to doing something about it, and I'm writing to ask for your help.

On October 16-17, I'll spend the weekend walking, along with thousands of other people, in the Avon Walk forBreast Cancer. I will walk at least the distance of a marathon (26.2 miles)
