When Donald Trump began to make public overtures about his possible interest in running for president of the U.S., I thought he could be a substantive wild card in the race.
I thought Trump could be a viable candidate because he does have a successful track record as a businessman. During next year’s presidential campaign, the economy will be the number one issue—this would have played right into Trump’s strength.
But, Trump has allowed himself to be hijacked by h

“The objective of the war against Libya is not just its oil reserves (now estimated at 60 billion barrels), which are the greatest in Africa and whose extraction costs are among the lowest in the world, nor the natural gas reserves of which are estimated at about 1,500 billion cubic meters. In the cross hairs of ‘willing’ of the operation ‘Unified Protector’ there are sovereign wealth funds, capital that the Li

North American Africans have a human right to self determination and sovereignty, especially we never exercised such since our sojourn in the wilderness of North America, and yet our condition deteriorates wi
A Mother's Message to the Police of America

A Mother's Message to the Police of America
Those of us who came of age in the 60s will recall that many of the riots and rebellions were the result of a mother rescuing her son from the hands of the police.
Before we knew it, all hell had broken loose, cities burned to the ground. In a recent conversation with Oakland Tribune Editor Martin Reynolds, he urged me to inform him of incidents of police abuse. Well, Martin, a mother approached me today in Berk
I never saw a contradiction between the ideas that sustain me and the ideas of that symbol, of that extraordinary figure, Jesus Christ.
Fidel Castro

As peace loving and progressive forces in the West and in the US in particular deliriously celebrated the awakening of pro-democratic movements in white dominated Islamic countries that routinely and officially kick blacks to the curb, growing evidence suggests the West, led by France, engineered a political and military coup in the Cote d’Ivoire, that some say is designed to re-colonize that country.
Set beside widespread beliefs the West i.e., Europe and the US, is d

Whenever the U.S. government enters into a state of fiscal austerity, politicians always look for budget cuts from programs they deem to be less important or have little or no constituency. Foreign policy budgets, especially those directed towards Africa seem to always show up near the top of that list.
The left will blame it on the “mean” Republicans who don’t care about Africa. The truth is that Africa seems to benefit more from Republican control of Congress/W
