Blind to Bias; How Prosecutors Think‏

Stuart-Slavin-2455851*220.jpeg[By Stuart Slavin, MD, MEd ] Those in our lives whom we consider to be most objective, who in many ways are paid to be objective, have repeatedly been shown to be anything but objective.  Rather, they make decisions that are consistently influenced by unconscious (implicit) bias.  White NBA referees call more fouls against black players than against white; MLB umpires are more likely to erroneously call a ball a strike if an all-star pitcher is on the mound; Israeli judges are more likely to gr

African Man Can’t be called a Foreign National In the soil of Africa

We call up on Africa Union not to use member states polarizing words calling Africa Nationals a Foreign Nationals in his own continent Africa. Africa unification is only realized by reclaiming our right and by practicing the right policy implementation to the way forward to meet the agenda 2063. We all share the same consanguinity and history. We shouldn’t be victim of wrong connotation based on artificial boards that is lined

Dr.-Tim-G-Williams_1559768.jpgIn all probability Global population will exceed 10 billion by the year 2050. The impact of such an influx growth of the world's population on existing food supplies without first increasing the resources to avail more harvestable edible food crops the world will come face to face with a Global Famine that would trigger a catastrophe of Biblical proportions. The question every government must now be asking; how will we be able to thwart a pending disaster and still be able to feed the hungry mul

125px-Morning_Star_flag.svg.png?width=300West Papua must be given full membership at the Melanesian Spearhead Group, says the Pacific Freedom Forum.

"The people of West Papua have long been denied basic human rights by their own government," says PFF Chair Titi Gabi.

"They are therefore justified in seeking support and assistance for those rights from outside their own borders."

The Melanesian Spearhead Group will decide on an application for full membership from West Papua groups in June.

PFF is calling on the Melanesian Spearhead Group

Herman-Wainggai.jpgThe first time I was arrested for subversion, I was forced to sit at a table in a police station; an Indonesian police officer sat across from me and placed a gun on the table near his burly hands. I remember the gun was large and dark silver. He told me they could kill me if they wanted and there would be nothing my family could do. But in my mind’s eye, the gun was a bible and I realized that whether I am in prison or anywhere else, I am never alone. This gave me the strength to endure prison,

Africans,

If we are to win Black Power in MertoEast in Saint Louis, Missouri, we must deal with the issue of crime there. I have decided to go for it. I need your feedback and input. I think this is the right approach is for no other reason that it is unavoidable. Every time I deal with Brooklyn or Washington Park, I am confronted with corruption and prostitution. I have concluded that prostitution is at the root of nearly all of our social problems in the African community, out of wedlock childb

In view of the Black Man’s affiliation with the White Man’s religion,

Descendants of Slaves need a Divine Intervention for DELIVERANCE
Out of these troubles, tragedies, and great affliction.

Recently a plane went down killing 150 people. The real tragedy is that the co-pilot had decided to take his life and his passengers with him. He crashed his plane into a mountain killing himself and all aboard. These people didn’t have to die. Had just one of these passengers been a believer in the CREATOR G

[By Harry AginaThere is no question whatsoever that the contemporary world has witnessed remarkable changes in intercultural interaction. From an African perspective, one of the best things that have come out of this revolution is happening among African American youths, who are increasingly becoming proud to be associated with Africa. I am almost sure that one particular boy that punched my nose for calling him African back then in 1982 (or thereabouts), would buy me a drink today for that sa

Iyonna-Woods_1731678.jpg[By Iyonna Woods] In a society obsessed with image, a lot of people want to look like something other than how they were born. Plastic surgery, body shaping under garments, over done make up, etc. However, the most manipulated part of our body is our hair. If it's short, we want it long. If it's curly, we want it straight. People with straight hair want curly hair. People with thin hair long for thick tresses. And those tackling thick locks of hair have a stylist thin it with thinning shears.

The stark truth of the matter is that the “sagging pants” behavior is a direct projection of the prison industrial complex, in which males whose manhood has been compromised sag their pants to denote their sexual availability and vulnerability to other male inmates. This is no different than the prostitute who strolls the streets in the shortest, tightest skirt, propped up on the highest heels, revealing as much of their anatomy as the legal system will allow in order to attract customers.

Introduction ~

The discourse on problem of rationality in African Philosophy has been associated historically with two related happenings: Western discourse in Africa and the African response to it . The Western discourse had come in form of such notorious proclamations and claims as "reason is Greek", "emotion is African", which meant to them that Africans are not rational . Yet to some, it further meant that African beliefs are neith

Folding a Fitted Sheet Riddled Me.

Marivic-Malinao_555333.jpgDo you find folding fitted sheet frustrating? For me, folding fitted sheet was like solving a riddle. It really was a difficult problem to deal with. However with some tips, I was able to uncover the mystery behind it. It only involves a simple technique of puckering. It is as easy as you pucker your lips when you avoid talking with your husband.

Start folding the bed sheet right away while it is still warm from the dryer. It is easier to fold a warm dry sheet before it starts to wrinkle. If dr

What Makes a Home a Home?

When thinking of a home what comes to mind first? Many people would start describing a home with windows, walls, doors, floors, a roof, and a loving family inside. This may not always be the case though. Like many other words in the English language, home can have many meanings. There are also many contributing factors as to why people think of a home as they do. The biggest factor that affects someone's thoughts of what a home is, is how they grew up. This would include their surrounding enviro

                                Pension Insecurity

“It's no secret that pension plans around the country are in trouble. The old-fashioned defined benefit plans in both the public and private sectors face funding shortages, and some radical solutions have been proposed to fix them. The trouble extends to so-called multiemployer pension plans that provide benefits -- or promise them -- to more than 10
