IT MUST BE MORALITY OVER MONEY!
It’s not enough for a society to get God’s blessing but to be obedient unto him IN the blessing.
Now that the ‘great’ election of 2024 is in our rear view mirrors, and Donald J. Trump will return to the White House in historic fashion as the 47th President of the United States. The ‘wizards of smart’ are singing a different tune. Seems that the money is flowing, and the smiles are growing. The enemies that were on the outside of ‘Trump land’ are forming a conga line to his Mar-A-Lago home/winter White House in order to attempt to curry favor OR find out his plans and leak them to enemies unknown.
It’s no secret that Trump was shielded from death by the hand of God. However, God insists on two things: One is obedience to His will and His Word. The other is to always choose morality over money. It would be wise for our incoming President to not forget God. Those who make the active choice to focus on the blessing and not the blessor (the one who is responsible for the blessing) is always a dangerous choice.
Morality MUST be tied to economic success. There are more than a few examples in the KJV Bible where societies got rich, forgot God, got fat and lazy, and paid a horrible price at the end. This is the exact same thing that happened to Sodom and Gomorrah: wealth, ease of living, and forgetting God. This led to sexual immorality and the eventual destruction of their society under the curse of fire and brimstone.
Lot got away from that sin pit with his skin. Mrs. Lot looked back when she should have looked forward, and ignored ‘the good life’ that she was leaving. We ALL know what happened to her—as it is described in BOTH the Old and New Testaments. She became a pillar of salt.
The moral to Mrs. Lot’s story? It is better to have morals than have money.
Solomon had wisdom and money. In the beginning of his reign, he did not forget the God who blessed him with wisdom and wealth. His kingdom was at peace. Heads of state from around the world came to see Solomon and ‘ooh and ahh’ at what God had done for him. Solomon sat on his throne and dispensed wisdom by the bucketful. However, Solomon was NOT wise enough to NOT turn his back on God. He started with sexual sins…by messing around and marrying women who were NOT godly (II Corinthians 6:14 KJV). Solomon’s son Rehoboam followed in his father’s footsteps and wound up having the kingdom that his father built BY God, ripped away from him BY God.
Read of Solomon’s downfall further in The Book of Ecclesiastes.
I’ve heard much of America being led into a new ‘golden age’ with Trump’s upcoming presidency. However, a golden age can soon become a ‘gilded age’ if we don’t uphold biblical, godly and moral principles. Too much success, too much wealth, too much innovation and technical advancement WITHOUT Jesus Christ and morality will bring a nation to ruin.
All one has to do is look back through history to see what happened to other nations who got to thinking that obeying God and holding to the morals HE put forth through Jesus Christ was ‘excessive’. Read about Rome, Greece, the United Kingdom and others who are now historical ‘has-beens’ because of their slipping morals and rising bank balances.
Hopefully, history won’t repeat itself in our land over the next few years.
