The Quick Scan by Mike Ramey

TIME FOR FATHER’S MONTH

America—as well as other western cultures—have been feminized for quite a long time.  Here in the states, March has been ‘proclaimed’ as “Women’s History Month”.  Well, as one who is used to putting out fires with the blanket of truth, I’d like to remind us that someone of the WOKE crowd (Weirdly Obsessing Kooks and Evildoers) a few years back just ‘decided’ that they were hostile against “Black History Month” in February and came up with the idea to further attempt to emasculate men with something ‘only’ for women in March.

Thus, men of color—including Black men—were kicked to the curb, once again.  To this I say my usual standard: BALDERDASH!  To put some truth into the discussion, woman came out of man in the garden by God’s design.  Further, I’d like to remind us of some wisdom from T. D. Jakes, back in the day: “A nation of women cannot raise up a nation of men!”

Thus, the power behind my proclaiming March as “Father’s Month”!  Let my critics squirm, Amen?

I caught a recent commercial where the father of two boys was the hero as the mother reportedly walked out on him, leaving him with the kids. No word on whether the father was receiving Child Support—but this is another story for another day.  Not only was this a rare example of someone ‘getting’ the fact that the single parenting issue has two sides…it also has fathers who are single and engaged with their children.  This commercial gets a ‘Tip of the Hat’ from this columnist.

It’s bad enough that the traditional “Father’s Day” was the result of a young girl—many years ago—paying tribute to her OWN widowed father who stepped into the role of both father and mother.  The young lady found that many platitudes were given to mothers and a holiday was created for them…but nothing was done to honor fathers who had been and were handling the same functions of raising a family on their own.  Of course, our young lady’s “Father’s Day” (officially designated in the 1970s) has been watered down as the month of June has been expanded to honor high school and college graduates—as well as “Black Music Month”.

Let’s expand the honor due to our fathers by giving them a whole month—the month of March.  Sure, some may say that ‘some’ fathers are not cutting it as fathers.  Well, the same can be said about many mothers.  Still, the KJV Bible holds that God said: “Honor thy father and thy mother…”.  It’s a commandment, not a ‘suggestion’.  Want better men?  Honor them openly and allow them to grow into the foreground, instead of remaining in the background behind modern, ungodly women.  Who knows?  The ranks of great fathers will grow where honor is given!
