A SUCCESS PRIMER FOR YOUNG BLACK MEN, PART 4

      As I continue with this 12-part series, I have decided to proclaim 2024 as “The Year of the Young Black Man.”  I believe that they are doing well, despite the negative images put forth by the “mainstream mess”.  I realize that you haven't heard about these topics from 'other' areas of the electronic frontier.  This great site is where you need to be, as the action is popping here!

      A few years back, during my Probation Officer days, I made a ‘field beat call’ to one of the High Schools in my urban area.  It was during a time when female teachers getting ‘caught’ seducing teenage boys was (and still is) at high levels across the country.  One of my contacts was a brother who was Dean of Students.  As we sat in his office and talked about some of these scandals, he said something I never forgot: “The reason why these grown women are chasing after these middle-and-high school boys is that they want a male they can manipulate rather than having and dealing with a man they have to listen to.” 

      I’ll throw this in for free young brothers:  Many of these females can spot the potential greatness IN you and they want to destroy you BEFORE you get to realize your OWN potential.

      The number of these sex scandals have increased exponentially since that conversation.  Further, the women doing the seducing has ‘set the victim up’ as the aggressor with the weak but applicable defense of: “Well, you KNOW how those teenage boys think of nothing but sex, sex, SEX…and he pursued me!”  A powerful but still usable lie: The SAME lie that put Joseph in prison (Genesis, Chapters 35 to 50 KJV).

      I wanted to pick up on a pair of topics that many young men have been ignorant of for quite a long time.  The topics are virginity (yours) and sexual responsibility (yours, again). This column and the next column will focus on these two items.  I have NO clue as to why so-called mentoring outfits and churches neglect this area of counseling and straight talk! 

      To be blunt, my young Black brother, there are MORE women in positions of authority—some of them married—across society who are actively engaged in pursuing sexual relationships with young, school-aged males.  This is an unfortunate product of the feminization of a society. It won’t get better anytime soon.

      How do I know that our country has become feminized?  One tipoff is that we constantly hear about the ‘standards’ that young women ‘expect’ or ‘demand’ of young men…but the same young men supposedly do NOT have the right to ‘expect’ or ‘demand’ anything from young women.  In short, my young brother, you are NOT encouraged to be a man, but be a ‘male’ and follow along behind any potential date as a whipped puppy!

        There’s more. Many young men have NO clue in their being seduced—until the physical act takes place.  Brother, men are stimulated (sexually aroused) by what they see or view.   Sexual immorality of any kind starts IN the mind and often leads to a lot of unintended consequences.  The FIRST one is a loss of purity to the young man involved, meaning that he has lost his virginity.  The SECOND consequence is that of a possible picking up of a sexually transmitted disease (STD).  These days, my young brother, STDs are far beyond syphilis and gonorrhea (or, as I like to state, ‘Sodom and Gomorrah’).  HIV, AIDS, and other diseases of today are proving more and more resistant to antibiotics and treatment.  The THIRD consequence is your loss of standing in your community, as you have shamed yourself, your family, and your friends.  Another consequence is that you have sinned against God.  Another consequence is that—IF the girl or woman who seduced you gets pregnant (which is what many of them want), you—even as a juvenile—will be on the hook for Child Support (and if you can’t pay, your parent(s) will have to pay until you can be employed in order for YOU to pay) for the next 20 years—or more!

      My young Black brother...when sexual (or any) temptation comes knocking, you let Jesus Christ answer the door and you RUN away from that temptation! I Corinthians 10:13 (KJV): “God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”  Young man, it is a mark of wisdom—not shame—to get away from situations you KNOW you should not be involved in,

     The Book of Proverbs runs 31 chapters.  What makes this book of the KJV Bible so powerful is it contains examples of people whom you should hang around and people whom you should avoid.  Chapter 31 is the chapter that identifies what constitutes a godly woman—from the point of view of a godly woman (a Queen) point out to her son (a King) the proper qualities.  In short, THIS is the chapter that young men should turn to ‘spot’ desirable qualities in a potential date—or mate.  IF she doesn’t measure up, then you must give her up and avoid being trapped by a female predator.  After all, some predators CAN and DO wear skirts!

      Many of the verses in the first ten chapters deal with sexual situations that young men will face in life; how to avoid them and, if avoiding them does not work, how to escape them.  However, one clear point that is covered in those ten chapters is that sin is conceived in the mind.  What a young man feeds himself from social media; from ‘sneaking and peeking’, from reading pornographic and/or sexually charged material will stay IN your mind and motivate you to do the wrong thing.

      Your thought life MUST be brought under control IF you are going to maintain your virginity and stay out of sexual situations. Saving yourself for marriage is still cool!  More to come.
