GET RIGHT—OR GET LEFT! PART 2
In our last ride together, I sought to make it clear that one MUST become a Christian on God’s terms in order to be eligible to be Raptured off of this rock, and into Heaven. Church membership does NOT mean that you are IN Jesus Christ. If your father, mother, grandma, or grandpa is a Christian and you are not, you are NOT in Jesus Christ. You may know about Christ, but having a relationship with Him by calling on his name and becoming a part of his Kingdom is the ONLY way you are assured of going to heaven (Acts 16:31, Romans 10:9, John 3:16, 17, 30 KJV).
Talking about God doesn’t make you a Christian, no more than wearing a cross around your neck, saying three dozen ‘Hail Marys’ or acknowledging Jesus as a great teacher or prophet. One must accept the fact that to get to God in a biblical manner, you have to have a mediator—that being Jesus Christ. The one who died for your sins, rose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and is now seated by God in the heavenlies…period. You may get mad if you want to, but THIS is a FACT!
One other FACT…God had a son, and his name is Jesus. This, in itself, cancels out many other religions. Further, Jesus is just as much God as the Holy Spirit. Three in one, one in three!
The Rapture is a part of Bible Prophecy doctrine and must be taken seriously. There are plenty of arguments going on in our present era, as to when Jesus will be coming back. The important thing to remember—in order to cut through all the static? Make sure that you are ready to meet him in the air WHEN God decides to have Jesus call the Believers home to be with Him.
It is a simple matter of needing to get right—or get left behind.
I find it interesting that Jesus walked this earth for an estimated three and a half years. The Tribulation—the three-and-a-half-year period following the Rapture, and the Great Tribulation, the next three-and-a-half-year period to follow the Tribulation total seven years—two 3.5 year periods which mirror the exact time—day for day—that Jesus walked the earth ministering.
One other small point. Once the Rapture takes place, there WILL be a change in the calendar year. It will move BACK to 30 days a month, or 360 days per year from the present 365.25 days per year.
I also find it interesting that as we get closer to His return in the Second Coming, there seems to be more and more controversy surround the Rapture. Let me clear it up for you. While the precise term does NOT appear in the Scriptures, there is more than enough evidence of the concept and principle.
The Christian is called upon to believe the Word and share what he has been taught from it. This is why true Christianity is a relationship—not just a religion. No, I cannot explain electricity, but I know it’s real. No, I cannot explain the concepts of waves being generated to form sounds and pictures, but I know that its real. Therefore, I cannot fully explain the fullness of the Rapture—but I know it’s real because it is a part of the Word of God. Since I believe the Word, I don’t have to explain it. It explains itself to the Jew first and also to the Greek, to the saved and to the unsaved.
The concept of the Rapture is contained in the New Testament, in I Thessalonians, Chapters 4 and 5. Also in I Corinthians Chapter 15 (KJV). While the word may not be there, there is more than enough breadcrumbs to lead a person to the conclusion of the Rapture concept.
In wrapping up our time together this month, I’d like us to keep these several things in mind concerning Bible Prophecy. There were three items proclaimed in the Old Testament which have come to pass in the New Testament era prove that God knows what He is talking about often hundreds of years before an event—or events—come to pass. Here are the three prophetic predictions and results:
Prediction: A nation would be born in one day. Result: Israel became a nation on May 14, 1948…in ONE day, just like the KJV Bible stated.
Prediction: Jerusalem would be ‘whole’ or reunited once again. Result: In 1967, the Israeli military forces reunited Jerusalem by the conclusion of the six-day war.
Prediction: There would be, in the end times, an explosion of knowledge. Result: Since the 1950s, the rise of computers, the Internet, and now Artificial Intelligence—coupled with the appropriate gadgets—have put the knowledge of a library in the palm of a person’s hand, with calculations and the ability to retrieve information in seconds.
These three instances of prophecy coming to pass has set up the imminence of Second Coming of Jesus Christ, and made The Rapture a closer source of joy for the Christian, and of dread for the non-Christian.
Get right—or get left!
With what we have noticing unfold before our eyes in our present age, is it any wonder that more and more people are becoming aware of the nearness of the return of Jesus Christ? All that is unfolding before is has even the most hardened skeptic sensing that the end IS near!
More to come.
