  ~ Okay, so it's about 4:30 in the morning, and I'm working on a project, when this piece from RSN (Reader Supported New) comes across my computer screen:  "The New New Romney Is a New Kind of Mendacious Liar,"  by Charles Pierce, Esquire (which probably means the writer is a lawyer).

As I'm reading the piece, and the comments that ensued, I realized that this is yet another reason we have to stop just reading the Post, Daily News, New York Times, and other meanstream publications, and begin to be open and aware of some of the more indepth, analytical tomes that are out there valiantly trying to keep us informed.  RSN is one of many.  National Memo is another.

Of course, I would be remiss if I didn't include among our  Black Press - Daily Challenge, Afro Times, New American, Amsterdam News, Carib News, Our Times Press, Black Star News, African Sun Times, as well as the Blogs and bloggers, including: gloriadulanwilson.blogspot.com , Eduadvocate, Chris Stevens, Curtis Moore, Bruce Barnes, The BlackList Pub -  among others, who are constantly working 24/7-366 - to keep you updated, informed and debumked of constant garbage that you are being bombarded with, via the meanstream press.  Millions of dollars are being poured into the meanstream media by the likes of Karl Rove and the Koch boys to spin, lie, distort, cover up what's really going on.  Including phony surveys and statistics to make you think Romney is leading, when it's patently untrue.  {By the way, when was the last time a pollster called you to ask you who you were voting for?  Think about it.}

That said, I thought it constructive to extrapolate some of the information in this recent RSN article "Romney is a Mendacious Liar," to shed some light on the latest ploy in camp MITT-TWIT, that seems to have gained currency in the meanstream.  I think it may give us some additional talking points should we happen to come across the likes of Stacey Dash, Ice-T, or other quizzlings, who don't have the faculty to discern fact from  fiction.
{Note:  I had the clever idea of highlighting my comments in "Big Bird Yellow" for emphasis- but I think I'll drop that in the future.}

I've even looked up the word "Mendacious" for you, so those who feel it's too difficult a word to convey, will be able to break it down for them.  Used a real dictionary, Funk and Wagnalls, with real pages, too.

 MENDACIOUS  (men-day-shus):  Addicted to lying; characterized by deceit, lying, falsifying.  It connotes a person who lies just for the sake of lying, even when he could have, and should have told the truth from the beginning.

I'm pretty sure that should be a new word on Sesame Street .  In fact, they can fashion a new character around that word, in the form of Mitt-Twit Romney and call him "Mr. Mendacious,"  Maybe even have his nose grow every time he tells a lie - oh, wait; that's already been done, hasn't it? .

Mr. Pierce continues:  " Let's break down The New New Romney, shall we?"  and goes on to say that Romney's wife, Ann, and the five Romney boys, can be credited with this new, more humanoid form of Romney.  "The family pushed for a new message, putting an emphasis on a softer and more moderate image for the GOP nominee - a "let Mitt be Mitt" approach they believed more accurately reflected the looser, generous and more approachable man they knew.".

And, in a humorous aside, he quips:  "(We interrupt Afternoon Story Hour to bring you this important announcement from the blog's Emergency Hogwash System: Is the argument here really that Romney has abandoned "generic promises to do better"? Really? More on this as events warrant.)" - it was sooo cool, I had to leave it in.
Paraphrasing here, Mr. Pierce  states:  "That {MITT-TWIT}  Romney is a preposterous candidate for either party to run, three years after his general social and economic class {a/k/a THE REP-UGH-BLICANS} nearly burned down the world economy,  always was a given. That, in the intervening years between his two presidential campaigns, {MITT-TWIT Romney really has become {AN EVEN BIGGER} quite a remarkable liar,  is something to which we all should have become accustomed by now. (It certainly shouldn't have startled {SURPRISED} the President as much as it obviously did last week.)

You know, when it comes to these kinds of tactics, President Obama should always be cautioned to think Machiavelli, and also remember, that the Rep-ugh-blicans have the faculty to dazzle the public with their bullshit.  In fact, remember that load of crap Bush one came out with:  "A thousand points of light high on a hill..". Really???  Of course, Bush 2 went him one better, and just wholesale had votes dumped into the ocean in Florida (before then, the only "Chads" we knew were a country in Africa, and an actor), and then bribed a Republican-dominated Supreme Court into giving him a presidency that he did not win.

 Never under estimate the levels to which these guys will stoop to bamboozle the American public; or to wholesale deprive them, when the lies don't work. But sometimes it backfires,as it did when the MITT-TWIT threatened to destroy PBS;  and then  Rove and his henchmen go into action,  spreading money like manure;b feverishly working to quell the tide of Americans who are now ready to open up a can of whip ass of their own on Romney for threatening Big Bird, and Sesame Street. -

Per Pierce:  "That he {MITT-TWIT} would attempt to "pivot" away from the stances he took to win the Republican primaries, was as inevitable as the dawn...he is running a "post-truth" campaign...when... Rick Perry asked him about the undocumented immigrants who once trimmed the hedges at the Romney family manse, {he responded}  "I'm running for office, for Pete's sake, I can't have illegals."

"This is not just lying or fudging or flip-flopping, although it contains elements of all of these. It is the same impulse that has fueled his (apparently successful) refusal to disclose fully his tax returns. It is the same impulse that led him to say what he did in the debate about his health-care plan and pre-existing conditions, and then have his campaign dispatch Eric Fehrnstrom to the spin room to declare precisely the opposite...."
"All candidates soft-pedal positions that they feel might cost them votes. (Romney's running mate - {PAUL RYAN - a/k/a LYIN' RYAN} is something of a past master at it.) All candidates lie, or fudge, or flip-flop with ...  in order to win an election. But what {MITT-TWIT}  Romney is saying to the electorate here is so deeply, profoundly cynical that it seems to me to be unprecedented. In essence, this is what he's selling to the country.
"I'm not giving you specifics because I might lose the election, and I'm telling you that right up front so you can make it part of your calculation about voting for me. If I tell you what I'm going to do, you will vote against me. I know that. You know that. We are in agreement that, if I lay out my policies in clear and unambiguous language, you will not vote for me. If I tell you explicitly that, yes, your mortgage-interest deduction is going up the spout so I can shovel a few zillion more quatloos toward the Pentagon, nobody who owns only one house ever will vote for me. So, no, I'm not going to tell you what loopholes will be closed. For that reason, and that reason alone, I am declining to tell you what I will do as your president.

"I am not refusing to do this because circumstances in office may make me go back on what I have promised. I am not George H.W. Bush. I am not refusing to do this because I have no clue what I will do if I win. I am not George W. Bush, either. I am doing this because my policy ideas will make me {even more} unpopular and therefore, I am not going to share them because the opposition may use them to say mean things about me and help me lose the election. We all are in agreement on that. I am not required to do anything that might jeopardize my chances, and that includes telling you people what I will do if you elect me, because I'm running for office, for Pete's sake."
(We should have seen this coming when Ann Romney made pretty much the same point about the campaign's now-apparently-successful refusal to release any more of the candidate's tax returns, saying that they'd given "you people" all we needed to know, and that there would be nothing else released because to so so would provide "more material for attack." And, my dear young man, that simply is not done.)
Pierce further states: " Fehrnstrom's famous "Etch-A-Sketch" moment was of a piece with this, too: 'Yes, everything we've said is to truckle to our crazy-ass base, and everybody knows that is the case, so, when we completely reverse our positions two or three times before November, we will be engaging in clever campaign tactics that you should all applaud, being basically a nation of Politico reporters." Apparently, announcing your dishonesty in advance is now the highest form of political integrity. {NOT}.  " I've lived through two Nixon campaigns, and Reagan's image-only 1984 re-election extravaganza, and Lee Atwater's race-baiting efforts on behalf of Poppy Bush, and the two Karl Rove-scripted rodeos that elected a  C-Plus Augustus, and I can honestly say I've never seen the profound combination of blatant mendacity and obvious cynicism that is the Romney campaign at this particular historical moment.".
One commentary suggested we send Romney bottles of Ex-Lax; however, since Ex-Lax is supposed to solve constipation, let me recommend that we send him massive cases of Kaopectate instead.  He even furnished the address:  Romney for President; P. O. Box 149756; Boston, Massachusetts 02114-9756; and further stated:
"If you agree that this a good idea, please email this message to your friends so that as many people as possible see it. At the same time you mail a package {of Kaopectate} to Mitt, I suggest a donation of equal value to the Obama campaign at www.barackobama.com. "

That said, I suggest you go on line and check out RSN; and at the same time, for African American New York Locals, to not have a copy of the Black publications in your hands at the same time you're reading the Post (owned by Rupert Murdoch), or the Daily News or the New York Times, is just pure d. ignorant.  The only way you get the balanced truth as it effects you in the Black community is to read what we are working so hard to get to you.  Perhaps if Stacey Dash read the L.A. Sentinel, she wouldn't have sounded so CLUELESS and ignorant about what's happening in and around the Black community.  Somebody give that child  subscription, please.

 I don't know if you've noticed, however, that BET and CENTRIC are not carrying the Presidential Debates on either night!!! What's up with that.  We can do with a little less Hip Hop Awards, and a lot more relevancy to the Black Community.  After all, we are "subscribing" to you.  T.J. Holmes is cool; but we still need to be apprised as to what's really happening in our Black communities.  As much as I love the classic shows, we are still living in 2012.  So, let' do a "must-carry" and get the debates on.  In case you hadn't noticed: PRESIDENT  BARACK OBAMA IS BLACK ! And so are 99% of your viewers.

Show me a Latino Station that would not have their candidate front and center 24/7-366.  Get with the program.  You owe it to your millions of Black viewers.  Thank you

Stay Blessed &
ECLECTICALLY BLACK
