A GALA celebrating the renaming of South Street Journal (SSJ) to Chicago Street Journal “Chicago’s Newest City-Wide Media Voice.
That evening, while honoring SSJ who has played a major role in forming and shaping community news, on the south side of Chicago for 19 years, this event will also be paying homage to Black Wall Street-Chicago; on the first BWS District of 75th Street, at The Quarry Event Center, located at 2427 East 75th Street, Chicago.
State Senator Donne Trotter will be a special guest as he passed Senate Resolution SR 0432, recognizing Black Wall Street District Chicago of 75th Street. (Unanimously.)
It is time to remember, “The Power of The Press” by supporting a grassroots newspaper designed to serve ALL the citizens of the city of Chicago.
Mr. Lindson P. Anderson of The Northwest Information Service will be on hand with a presentation on stories blacked out by mainstream corporate media. He will unleash The Why, The Who and The What that controls our media and you’ll never look at radio, television or the internet the same.
The Black Republicans will be in the place. Mr. Jimmy Lee Tillman II, Candidate for Congress for the 1st Congressional District and Founder of the Martin Luther King Jr. Republican will join us for the evening.
Please honor us with your presence on Saturday, June 7th at 6:00 PM, as we renew the spirit of those who built the “ORIGINAL” Black Wall Street in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by “Remembering One Day in May” with a presentation by Mr. Pemon Rami, Director of Educational Services and Public Programs at the DuSable Museum of African American History.
