Starting from the goals and aspirations of the African Union in Agenda 2063, this festival seeks to draw inspiration from Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah while ensuring that the conditions and freedom of the peoples of Africa within the wider international community are not left out in the call for freedom and independence of Africans. In this sense, the festival draws from the ideas of Nkrumah and Marcus Garvey who both argued of the inextricable linkages between the fortunes of Africans at home and abroad.

There will be Kumina Drumming and testimonials , given by the Howellites and members of the Howell family, (who suffered the brutal State attack on Pinnacle ,in the mid 1950s, first hand.)

Stand Up Community is about standing up to the injustices in the Black Communities, standing up to the crimes in our communities, the lack of education for our children, the economic struggles.

We can point fingers all day. But if we don't STAND UP, we will always be in the same place. Our next generation needs us to STAND UP and RISE and come together with a solution.

Our panel of everyday people trying to make a difference will discuss, with audience participation, what we can actually be put in place so we can heal. So our children and the next generation can live in a safe environment, free from injustice, lack of education, learn to open and run a business and put money back into our communities to continue to build.

There can be so many solutions, but we need to come together and find one, and if one is not the right solution, try another and another. We keep going as a community, as one.
