Kwanzaa celebrates the unity of Afrikan people at home and abroad. It is based around seven essential principles (Nguzo Saba) which are focused on celebrating our history, culture, tradition, resistance and most importantly the family – especially the children.

Activities include libation; ABSS – centenary of UNIA-ACL; teaching and enjoying maths from an African perspective by Paul Phoenix; cultural performances, Afrikan market, community awards, dancers, children and adults’ interactive programme; spoken word artists: El-Crisis and Silas; and special guest speaker – Student Minister Hilary Muhammad.

ABSS is proud to celebrate the centenary of Marcus Garvey’s formation of the Universal Negro Improvement Association (UNIA) and African Community League.
