ON FRIDAY OCTOBER 22ND 6:30 PM 147 W 75th St, Apt A The evening will include special guests and updates on the cases of Troy Anthony Davis & Mumia abu-Jamal. FREE Drinks and refreshments will be served!! **$20 SUGGESTED DONATION * $10 FOR STUDENTS AND UNEMPLOYED** Speakers: Brian Jones – Actor, teacher and activist. Has been performing Howard Zinn's one-man show 'Marx in Soho' across the country since 1999. Jones will also be performing pieces from Howard Zinn's last work 'The People Speak'. Lawrence Hayes - Former Black Panther and NY State death row prisoner, spent more than 20 years in prison. Long time prison abolition activist and founding member of The Campaign to End the Death Penalty. Alan Newton - Powerful speaker and advocate. Former NY State prisoner, exonerated after 21 years with the aid of The Innocence Project. Amir Amma - Leading activist and Rockefeller drug law survivor released after 19 years in prison. Albany County District attorney David Soares described Amma's case as a travesty of justice. Yusef Salaam - Convicted as a juvenile and exonerated in the Central Park Jogger case. National board member of the Campaign to End the Death Penalty.
