The AFRICAN AMERICAN STUDENT LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE January 17-18, 2009- Rust College, Holly Springs, MS NOTE: Let's hope this Black Student confab will be able to move from a GabFest filled with wonderful talking heads to a more ACTION-oriented Movement for Black Liberation. This means that our youngfolk must think beyond assimilating into a dying civilization and envision a new more egalitarian system grounded in the masses of our people and the peoples of the world... grounded in the realization that -from now on- earth must be saved from the ravages of capitalism. Today's Black student leaders must reach back to the periods when Black student activism was more militant/revolutionary than today and learn from the victories and errors of those periods. The concept of Sankofa is more relevant now than ever before: the Future of our People depend on it.
