Family-oriented, multi-cultural and uplifting event celebrating the ending of slavery in the U.S. begins with a Unity March at 11am for the eradication of modern-day forms of bondage (gangs, drugs, violence, abuse, poverty etc.). Led by NC Juneteenth Celebration Chair, NC Rep. Larry Hall, the march will commence at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church (1007 S. Roxboro St. - Durham) and proceed to Forest Hills Park, the site of the Celebration. From 12pm - 6pm, the Juneteenth Celebration will include food, vendors, kid's activities, health fair, art pavilion and entertainment throughout the day with featured guest, national recording artist, RAY, GOODMAN & BROWN. The U.S. Postal Service will dedicate their annual Black Heritage Stamp. For more information, visit www.durhamjuneteenth.com
