On Monday, August 9th, 2010, Malik Zulu Shabazz, national chairman of the New Black Panther Party and much beloved ‘attorney at war,’ will host a special sit down with the Black press and other progressive media.
This roundtable and dialogue will take place at Harlem’s legendary restaurant Sylvia’s located at 126th Street and Malcolm X Blvd. in Harlem at 2pm
Shabazz, fresh off an epic rally in Newberry, South Carolina over the lynching of Anthony Hill, will be joined by key players in his national staff.
The roundtable will expand on the dialogue heard on KISS-FM’s Open Line this past Sunday. A range of critical topics will be addressed including the attack on Black Leadership and the New Black Panther Party, the rise of hate crimes in the Age of Obama, healing bonds with the elders (on his recent dialogue with Panther legend and elder Bobby Seale), the underreported good work of the New Black Panther Party and more.
He will also be joined by key allies of the New Black Panther Party in the area.
Please call Min. Zayid Muhammad to affirm your participation at 973 809 4604.
“Sadly, while our Party was rallying to protect our people from the scourge of lynching in South Carolina and laying the groundwork for a new united front within the Black nationalist community and beyond at our national black power convention in Atlanta, the white press, especially its most conservative quarters, have been demonizing us as a ‘hate group’ non-stop when we just rightfully hate oppression and injustice, using all of that to create a smokescreen on the real work we are doing and the real issues facing our people in a critical way,” explained Zayid Muhammad, the Party’s national minister of culture.
“Hopefully, this sit down will clear up a lot confusion and answer a lot of questions,” he finished…
