The National Coalition of Blacks for Reparations in America (NCOBRA) - Chicago Chapter, will host the 22nd Annual National NCOBRA.

This year's conference theme is Bambalela - Jitayarishe "Never Give Up - Be Prepared" for Reparations Now! The primary purpose is that of solidifying N'COBRA's infrastructure, maintaining our righteous struggle and hearing from new voices as we assemble to define a reparations package.

Those in attendance will gain valuable community-building skills needed to educate, mobilize, and organize teams of activists dedicated to hammering out the details of a reparations settlement that will help heal our people and diminish the festering vestiges of chattel enslavement, Jim Crow segregation, and modern-day racism and terror.

There will be a tribute to Bro. Hannibal Afrik (in white, third from the left).

A full two days of programming include a keynote address by Haki Madhubuti, author and founder of Third World Press. A free and open-to-the-public town hall meeting that would include a human rights, sovereignty and self-determination panel discussion with Black Agenda Report's Glen Ford as moderator, and Atty. Adjoa Aiyetoro, co-founder of NCOBRA, Chairman Omali Yeshitela, of the Black-Is-Back Coalition and African Socialist Party, Baba Hannibal Afrik of Republic of New Afrika and NCOBRA, Dr Farid Muhammad of International Human Rights Association of American Minorities, Ahmed Saadiq of the Lost Found Nation of Islam and Diane Urban of International Year for People of African Descent Central as panelist. In addition, we have planned workshops dealing with healing the subjugations of enslavement, tracing our genealogy and preparing non-profits organizations to receive reparations.

Finally, we will continue to expand our knowledge of the 5 injury areas: economic development, education, health, people-hood and criminal justice (political prisoners). This information and knowledge not only helps in basing our reparation demand but also in identifying best methods to provide reparations resources for our repair.
