Get to Work after the Spiritual Upliftment

I spent 15 hours with some of the most enthusiastic Community-level Repair/Reparations Advocates that I has been around in quite a while. During the Southeast Regional 2010 Convention, February 19th & 20th in Atlanta, GA, for a moment I thought the revolution was on! For me, it was both entertaining and educational (Edutaining). The presenters were powerful and the performers were dramatic. Only thing more we could have asked for was for more to gather with us in the name of our struggle. But I have no doubt that more sisters and brothers will join us because of the commitment we have made to do Community-level Self-Repair/Reparations Work.

I wanna invite you to visit the Unity4Power website (www.unity4power.org) to view the blueprint presentation and the 10-10-50 video. Remember, we have to be committed to educating ourselves to the systems that are working for our best interest. That means we should each also do an internet search for the HR40 bill, the Senate "Apology" for lynching, the House "Apology" for Slavery & JimCrow and the Senate "Apology" for Slavery & JimCrow and add those documents to our Personal Family Library.

I also wanna invite you to go to www.pcocs.org and support the initiative to build at less one Black History Library in every state. Minister T. James is looking to establish "access to more than 600 years of history" for everyone. That 600 years of history of the descendants of enslaved Afrikans will correct many of the falsities currently taught to everyone in america. But only after the demand is made foe change will the corrections be made. So visit www.pcocs.org to help make the demand.

We should also share those documents with our children and kinfolks in order to educate them to our struggle for Environmental and Social Justice. Please educate your kinfolks to the 40,000 for HR40 Campaign, the Insufficient Redress Campaign and the United Voices 4 Reparations Campaign. Teach them ways that they can be a part of this phase of Ourstory being made and the ultimate benefits of Functional/Operational Unity for Afrikan People.

We need to get our people excited about being Afrikan without the hyphen and without the hype, like Dada Tracy Viergela Pierre said. We should make sure that they know about Queen Mother Moore, Baba Imari Obadele and Reparations Jay, as well as our current Elders & Warriors for Reparations. Ask them to get a copy of the Reparations Mix CD (draft 1), listen to it and have a family discussion about it. Invite them to view the Black Candle with you for education and discussion. And most importantly, lets get our children educated and involved in this struggle for the recovery of losses sustained by Afrikan People and liable and punitive damages for the injuries through all five of the injury areas identified by N'COBRA.

Finally, make every effort to join me in New Orleans June 25-27 for the National N'COBRA Conference. We need to get together again and that would be the perfect opportunity. Check out www.ncobra.org for details or call me (601.957.2969). Also, look for an announcement about a Southeast Regional Conference Call as a follow-up to our Southeast Regional Convention.

May you know Raha, Anasa, & Makadara (Peace, Prosperity, & God-Power) through shared love with Afrikan People.

from your Brotha A. Lukata Chikuyu, SE Regional Rep
