Vieques: Una batalla inconclusa/an inconclusive battle Wednesday July 1st, 2015 1199/Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Labor Center 310 W. 43rd St. 6:00 pm-Reception 7:00 pm-Film, Panel, Q&A Suggested Donation: $5-10 (no one will be turned away due to lack of funds) New York Solidarity with Vieques cordially invites you to the New York premiere of, “Vieques: Una batalla inconclusa/an inconclusive battle.” Film Synopsis: After decades of struggle and opposition, the U.S. Navy ended their military maneuvers on the Puerto Rican island municipality of Vieques in May 2003. Twelve years later, the residents of Vieques continue to demand the complete de-contamination and devolution of the Viequense land occupied by the U.S. Navy. Unsatisfied with the lack of change, the residents of Vieques face new struggles for justice on the island. This film explores these new struggles and brings to light the current political reality of Vieques. This film was produced by Frutos Filmicos. Panelists: Juan C.
