One of the many premises that constantly surfaces in the discussion of how to repair the cultural, psychological, emotion and academic damage done to black people is - studying African & African American history would go a long ways towards mending the broken spirits of black people. To this end, Kuumba Promos has collaborated with Jackson-MS N’COBRA and Mississippians For Reparations to host a live Black History Lesson call the Spiritual Pilgrimage to the Mississippi Delta. Twice a year we caravan to the Mississippi Delta to touch and be touched by black history. The next caravan will be Saturday, September 20, 2008 and we are registering caravaners in advance of the trip. Moving from the Jackson Medical Mall to the Medgar Evers Home/Museum, to the grave site of Fannie Lou Hamer, to the sites of the Emmett Till sage, to the Oakes African American Culture Center the Spiritual Pilgrimage is intensely emotional and spiritual.
