Rezoning Harlem: The Battle over Harlem's Future documents the 2008 struggle against rezoning 125th street, highlighting the work of activists who fought to protect Harlem from billionaire developers and their predatory rezoning plans.

Rezoning Harlem and the fight against gentrification that it documents is relevant today, as developers are attempting to rezone East Harlem, to build luxury housing and to displace residents. And rather than defend the neighborhood, the community board is conceding to the rezoning plan with a lukewarm no "with conditions" vote- all at the expense of East Harlem residents.

Join us for a special showing of Rezoning Harlem at the Justice Center en El Barrio. Afterwards we will discuss the film and what we can do to fight back against gentrification and displacement in East Harlem.
