NYC Elected Officials and Experts Make the Case for Reform

Every year, New York City spends over $2 billion in public money in the name of economic development and job creation. A disturbing study by the Fiscal Policy Institute, Good Jobs New York, and the National Employment Law Project shows that companies receiving these taxpayer-funded subsidies pay a significant number of workers poverty level wages. At a major public forum, elected officials and experts will discuss the urgent need for reform. They will explain how and why smarter public investment in good jobs can boost the local economy and lift working people out of poverty.
