Our On The Move; Learning Ourstory Excursion (from MedgarEversville (bka Jackson), MS to Selma, Montgomery & Bombingham, AL) is an yet another opportunity for the Community Elders (Mzee) to teach the children (Watoto) Ourstory. An African proverb tells us, "Until the Story of the hunt is told by the Lion, the tale of the hunt will always glorify the hunter", which means until the history of our enslavement is told by New Afrikans, the story of nullify the horrors of our enslavement and post enslavement oppression. Our On the Move Excursion shines a light on the horrors of our dehumanization and on our courageous fight against that oppression.
Our participation goal is 30 persons, with at least 20% (6) of them being school students (Watoto), which is our reason for contacting you. We're hoping you will underwrite the cost of this cultural education for the students. For more detail call Jeam at 769-572-7441.
