November 22: An Evening of Beats, Rhymes and Rhythms Against the Slow Genocide of Mass Incarceration.
On Friday, November 22, the Stop Mass Incarceration Network is going for a major advance in the movement of resistance to stop mass incarceration and all the horrors that flow from it. And you are needed to make it happen.
This event features Grammy Award-winning composer and pianist, and leader of the Afro Latin Jazz Alliance, Arturo O'Farrill. He headlines an important benefit that will also see a performance by the IMPACT Repertory Theatre, and reading of prisoners’ letters submitted to the Prisoners Revolutionary Literature Fund. This benefit kicks off an ongoing effort to raise serious funds that will be part of building sustained resistance against mass incarceration. If one is serious about waging a fight against mass incarceration, we'd better be serious also about raising serious funds and going on the political offensive against mass incarceration.
