FBI: civil rights lawsuit against FBI and NYPD arising out of the counterintelligence program (COINTELPRO), member NLG NYC Exec. [Cmte.], with confirmed speakers: Dhoruba Bin Wahad: former leader of Black Panther Party in New York; freed after serving 19 years in prison after conviction reversed due to COINTELPRO - related disclosures; plaintiff in Bin Wahad v. FBI Martin R. Stolar: Co-Counsel, Handshu V. Special Services Division, member NLG NYC Exec. Ctme Beth Baltimore: former member Bklyn Law Chapter, member NLG NYC Exec. [Cmte.] * awaiting confirmation from other speakers The program will provide an overview of the various programs and forms of government repression, both past and present, and address procedures in place to empower activists to continue their work.
