(45 min DVD) directed by the award winning journalist and TV anchor Ray Metoyer (produced by the former Black Family channel) is a powerful educational piece that the Emmett Till Legacy Foundation (ETLF) is presenting with post discussion (incl, Till family and ETLF Board Dir- Deborah Watts and Ray Metoyer, schedule permitting) at youth forums, schools programs, colleges and Universities across the country.Let us know... if you are interested in hosting the showing and post discussion in your city.   • Description: Central Brooklyn Jazz Consortium producers of the 12th Annual Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival from April 1 - April 30, 2011, invites your organization to participate in Brooklyn's longest continuous running jazz festival. The festival fee is $200. This cost to venues helps pay for: press conference, collateral materials, advertising (radio and print). Participants pay for programs they contract with. Administrative and other programming costs are not included in the festival fee (CBJC absorbs this expense). Promotions begin in late November. Brooklyn Tourism and Visitor's Center, an initiative of Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz, is a major supporter of the Central Brooklyn Jazz Festival. The exposure Brooklyn venues get as a collective is greater than as an individual. The jazz presentation is selected and paid for by the each venue and ALL receipts go to that organization. This festival is supported by the people of Brooklyn, our legislative leaders and community businesses

The conference will include Anthony Browder’s informative  Kemet on the Potomac Tour, plenary sessions, simulating panels, thought provoking and informative workshops conducted by distinguished scholars and researchers in the areas of Education, Research, Creative Productions and Spiritual Development. 2011 presenters include: Dr. Leonard Jeffries, Anthony Browder, Dr. Francis Cress Welsing, Dr. Greg Kimathi Carr, Dr. Mario Beatty, Dr Valethia Beatty, Dr. Anderson Thompson and others.

  • Description: Attendees can look forward to a variety of healthy living interactive experiences with emphasis upon the wholistic disciplines of iridology, massage, reflexology, and blood-type testing, including an all vegan food court, book signings, chef demonstrations and tastings. Furthermore, the Meat Out will feature Supa Nova Slom,  a wholistic health advocate, hip-hop musician and proponent of the vegan life style.  His song “Purify or Die” has emerged as the unofficial anthem of the wellness lifestyle. And expect him to discuss his recently published book The Remedy:The Five-Week Power Plan to Detox Your System, Combat Fat, and Rebuild Your Mind and Body.  He co-produced Wholistic Health for the Hip Hop Generation Documentary with his mother Queen Afua  a celebrated author herself. 
     
    Special musical performances by Julie Dexter and Starchile.
