  • Description: ALL POWER TO THE PEOPLE! ========================= A weekend memorial tribute honoring slain Black Panther leader Mark Clark will be held on June 27th and 28th, 2008, in Peoria, IL. The purpose of this event is to educate, inform and otherwise make known the true circumstances surrounding the life and death of Mark Clark and his assassination by the United States Government on December 4, 1969, in Chicago, IL, along with Black Panther leader Fred Hampton. On Friday, June 27th, a gravesite memorial has been scheduled for 4:00 p.m. at Springdale Cemetery located at 3014 North Prospect in Peoria, IL. A memorial tribute program shall be held on Saturday, June 28th, at Carver Community Center, 710 W. Third Avenue, Peoria, IL, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. The keynote speaker will be Akua Njeri, the widow of Fred Hampton, who was also wounded in the December 4th raid that claimed the lives of Fred and Mark.
