The 8th Annual Renewal Jamaica Poetry Festival (JPF) is being staged courtesy of a collaborative synergy between SenYAcum Edutainment, Jamaica Development Commission (JCDC), National Library of Jamaica (NLJ) and IRIE FM. This highly anticipated staging takes place on Sunday August 12 at the Louise Bennett Garden Theatre in Kingston, Jamaica.
Free Creative Writing Workshops
JPF 2018 commences with free Youth-Family-Friendly Creative Writing Workshops between 10 am and 2 pm, lead by the Canadian-Jamaican writer, author and poet Mrs. Shauntay Grant.
Honouring Jean 'Binta' Breeze With JPF Lifetime Achievement Award
In continuing the tradition of honouring our cultural and literary icons, the third annual JPF 2018 - Lifetime Achievement Award goes to Jean 'Binta' Breeze, who recently received the Doctor of Letters from Leicester University in the UK. This year's award is being presented in partnership with the National Library of Jamaica and the Poet Laureate of Jamaica Programme.

Jamaica Poetry Festival 2018 - Feast of Poetree Showcase commences at 7:00 pm featuring an eclectic blend of our cultural and performing arts, highlighting the very best of Jamaica and the global community of arts. This is being headlined by the legendary Lorna Goodison - Jamaica's first female Poet Laureate.
Jamaica Poetry Festival 2018 features - Lorna Goodison, Jean 'Binta' Breeze, Dr Velma Pollard, Mutabaruka, Lenny Little-White, Yasus Afari, Ka'Bu Ma'at Kheru, Shauntay Grant (Canada), Anord Sichinsambwe (Tanzania), Antonia Valaire, Ras JaJa, Wise Wurdz, Spolly, guest artiste - Asante Amen, and comedian Dufton Shepherd.
