P.O.P, ORANGE COUNCILWOMAN WILLIAMS CO-HOST
‘GET OUT THE VOTE RALLY’ SATURDAY!
CO-HOST NEW DOCUMENTARY ‘THE 13TH’ FRIDAY
On Saturday, November 5th, the People’s Organization for Progress (P.O.P.) and Orange Councilwoman Donna K. Williams will co-host a special pre-election ‘Get Out The Vote’ Rally at 12 noon in front of the Orange Public Library, 348 Main Street, Orange.
“We are literally down to a few days to stop Donald Trump,” said Lawrence Hamm, P.O.P. chairman.
This comes after the P.O.P. general assembly decided, in a surprise move, to endorse Hillary Clinton in Tuesday’s presidential election.
P.O.P. rarely endorses candidates for office.
“Our general assembly felt that there is simply too much at stake and that is too dangerously close not to,” explained Hamm.
“It is a historic moment for women in this country and to continue to socially move forward, and it is also an urgent challenge to keep the country from moving backwards under the polarizing leadership of Trump,” insisted Williams.
Both Hamm and Williams were two of the most prominent supporters of Bernie Sanders earlier in the campaign season.
P.O.P. will also call on the federal government to mobilize the proper marshals and observers to prevent any voter intimidation tactics at polling places on Election Day.
The Democratic National Committee has already gone into court to stop such threatened actions here in New Jersey.
