The Amadalozi gallery will be filled with effervescent and colorful floras, courtesy of the Miami based pop artist Ed King. The Transcendent Prerogative will be on exhibit from January 24 through February 12, 2014 at the Amadlozi Gallery at 6161 NW 22^nd Avenue, a part of the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center via collaboration with Sugarcane Magazine. This exhibit features one hundred new works that explore the convergence of pollination and divinity. “My Vision for this new body of work is simple: pollination and the human soul” said King, who is the first pop artist to exhibit at the African Heritage Cultural Arts Center. “This show explores the simplicity of our human condition; we are spiritual visuals traveling an expansive gulf of time, all the while, pollinating the world with our words, ideas, love and life.” Curator Melissa Hunter Davis says that she is excited to bring pop art to Liberty City” I love the new, the untried.” she said” and, I love creating connections and providing fresh and exciting experiences for patrons.” The exhibit also features work that is attractively priced for young and first time art collectors. By introducing work in all sizes, customers will be able to purchase original, affordable work.
