At that meeting, all delegates made a commitment to hold an annual conference on Reparation UNTIL OUR AIMS HAVE BEEN ACHIEVED. In 2008, the date has crept up on us, and we have not been able to give the time needed by such an important subject, along with a lot of our Black members time being taken up supporting the first ever strike by RMT’s LUL Cleaners. However, this is not an excuse for not carrying out our commitment. The 2nd Conference will take place on the Saturday the 23rd August 2008 at RMT’s Head Office 39 Charlton Street NW1 1200 – 1530hrs The second conference is by necessity to work on setting up structures in order to create a Reparation Committee within the British Trade Union movement led by Afrikans, other Black Activists and supporters within the wider movement both inside and out of the trade unions. Also in attendance will be 2 international Speakers: Queen Mother Dorothy Lewis former Co – Chair of N’COBRA Cikiah Thomas International Co Chair of Global Afrikan Congress Both Speakers will be in the UK between Friday 22nd and Saturday 31st Hope to see you on the 23rd or at one of the other meetings.
