SPREAD THE NEWS Akbar Muhammad to host live radio show Africa and the World AM900~ WURD (Philadelphia) Sundays @ 6:30 PM Akbar Muhammad will host a live weekly radio show “Africa and the World” dedicated to increasing awareness and literacy about Africa and the Middle East. The show is set to air August 17, 2008 and will continue on Sunday evenings at 6:30 pm. Tune in on AM900 ~ WURD (Philadelphia) or online worldwide at www.900amwurd.com Akbar speaks from his experience when he says “people of African decent are due a personal journey back to Africa to gain a historical perspective that connects past traditions to present life choices. An Africa experience will aid our youth in understanding their purpose, inspire meaningful discussions and shape positive self-images.” Akbar offers his listening audience a balanced point of view with a historical perspective which is why his commentary on issues is sought out by producers at Al-Jazeera, a widely watched international TV news show. He is also a regularly invited guest on radio stations around the country to discuss international issues. His vision is to create more opportunities to build and promote better relationships for Africans in the Diaspora with Africans on the continent. His plan is to encourage: business exchanges; cultural and youth involvement; travel to Africa; and advance positive attitudes towards understanding what a United States of Africa will mean to the world.
