Engage with unionists, feminists, immigrants, and civil rights fighters from the Caribbean, Central America, Mexico, Australia and cities around the U.S. at the national convention of the Freedom Socialist Party (FSP), happening in Los Angeles, Saturday, May 24 - Monday, May 26. 
 
Muffy Sunde, organizer for the Los Angeles FSP branch that is hosting the event, says, "Over the past few years, people all over the world have taken brave action against the inhumane profit system. But what comes next in order to create a just and healthy world? The FSP convention will consider the subversive possibility of sharing wealth, power, art and leisure in a society run by working people. We have a world to win and a planet to save!"
 
Speakers, strategy sessions and workshops will focus on a range of topics: next steps for an awakened labor movement; students of color and the movement to stop privatized public education; revolutionary action across borders; the intersection of socialism and feminism; Marxist theory on the environment; and how to organize grassroots coalitions. 
 
Participants will gather in Koreatown at the AFSCME District Council 36 building, 514 Shatto Place. Facilities are wheelchair accessible. Daily registration is $20; students and strikers pay $10.
