The  21st  Annual International Locks Conference: Natural Hair, Wholistic Health, and Beauty Expo in Philadelphia brings alive the essence of self-determination, African sovereignty and the benefits of wholistic health and wellness demonstrations and products,  features local, regional and national arts and crafts merchants exhibiting the finest quality hand crafted jewelry, natural body and hair care products,  Afrikan artifacts and Aboriginal Indigenous and alluring natural fashions, a poetry cafe, spoken word artists, a self-defense class for women,  soul line dancing,  and other dance workshops; visual art and cultural edutainment, Afrikan/Kuumba marketplace, live musical performances, children’s activities, workshops, lectures, author’s roundtable, delicious healthy food,  an alluring cultural fashion show,  and a natural hair showcase and competition.  In an addition to learning more about disaster preparedness, this year attendees have the opportunity to be exposed to solar generators on site. The Annual International Locks Conference: Natural Hair, Wholistic Health, and Beauty Expo’s main attractions feature  leading experts from the natural wholistic health and wellness, and natural hair care field, world-renowned scholars, activists such as Minister Alif, Heru Ofori Atta, Professor Griff, Za Za  Ali,  Dr. Afiya Mbilishaka, Thando Kafele, Dalani Aamon, Ife and Imhotep Fatiu, and artists from a myriad of professions who utilize the Expo as place to gain knowledge, make connections with like-minded people, and as an annual autumn family gathering, and spiritual renewal.  This conference is the original and longest consecutive running African centered and Aboriginal Indigenous cultural, educational, and authentic natural hair conference in the country. This much-anticipated event dedicated to preserving African cultural expressions and self-determination is always held the first weekend in October.
