WE WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER THE HONORABLE MARCUS MOSIAH GARVEY
(August 17, 1887-June 10, 1940)
Today, June 10, 2013 is the date the Honorable Marcus Mosiah Garvey died in the year 1940, or 73 years ago. He wanted to know according to his student, the Hon. Dr. Charles L. James, UNIA President General and my mentor, "Will they remember me? A songs is written, in reference to Marcus Mosiah Garvey reads, "You will be remembered through all eternity." The Marcus Garvey Institute, (MGI) wonders if on Monday, June 10, 2013, Africans at home and abroad, understand the significance of Marcus Mosiah Garvey and how keeping his work before the youth will bring about a new dialogue among them, raise their horizons, and raise their expectations of the 1.2 billion Africans and people of African descent worldwide? knowledge of Marcus Mosiah Garvey's life is transforming for our youth of all ages, because in it they find that Marcus Garvey did more as a teenager, through his intelligence, experience and leadership, than most of our youth would do in a life time,
unless they could take on the honorable and noble task of emulating Marcus Mosiah Garvey.
THE WORK ETHICS OF MARCUS GARVEY
After founding the Universal Negro Improvement Association and African Communities League, (UNIA) July 20, 1914, he did more in the first year of its existence than leaders of most organizations do in a lifetime, which led to the UNIA becoming the first mass movement of Africans in America. The large amount of work centered around learning to be self-reliant, and developing his leadership skills was purpose driven, in preparation to serve his race. He far exceeded what other humans do on any given day as part of his "life-work'-schedule. I suggest his work schedule was 10 times more meaningful than the work done by others. In any given day Marcus Mosiah Garvey, said more, wrote more, saw more people, went more places, got up earlier and went to bed later, prayed more and accomplished more than any other human being. This also implies that Marcus Mosiah Garvey was heard more, seen more, spoken to more, read about more, quoted more, loved more,
admired more, criticized more and lied on and lied to more. Let us all find the time in our busy schedules to honor Marcus Mosiah Garvey for the service he gave our race and for his work towards a free motherland Africa.
The MGI for over 20 years has been teach young and old from the African Diaspora about the life and work of Marcus Mosiah Garvey, If you care to learn or help us teach others, email:shakabarak1@yahoo.com or call the office at 708-613-5132 and learn about our traveling Marcus Mosiah Garvey Exhibit.
Our memorial will take place at the Evangelical Christian School, located at 9130 South Vincennes Ave. in Chicago from 5:00pm-8:00pm.

Among the greatest men ever lived on this earth is Honorable Obenfo Marcus Garvey. Note Marcus Garvey is one individual among Africans, past or present who stood up and called for the UNITED STATES OF AFRICA government. He is one of the Africans who has left legacy for SADA. We call on Akwasi Akyeampong to help SADA get an office in DC. For an African to live on this earth and did not know anything at all about GOD DO, then that African has lost his history and his people like Akwasi Agyemang. Why has Akwasi who has changed his slave name and even has changed Aglosized speling of his name from Acheampng to Akyeampong and should be encourage to contine his racial consciousness is considered by me as lost? It is because, having achieved social consciousness of his Africanity, Akwasi Akyeampons should now be poised to teach other Africans our need for UNITY by setting up an office in Washington, DC to promote our Africanity. Instead he has taken on the misleading inclination of our past ancestors who belived that Africa was behind us when Africa is in front of us and we must work to teach our children the necessity of knowing our true selves. What is Akwasi promoting? NOTHING. If any of us has any idea of the enormous amount of problems among the Diaspora Africans, then we will do our best to continue the works of Marcus Garvey. Diaspora Africans are lost to the AFRICAN RACE because of the European and Arab forced names on us during our cativity.
Now the word GOD DO is an accrynom for Garvey, Osagyefo, Dubois, Douglass and all the other AFRICANS who made conscious efforts to leave a legacy for us to continue. Garvey is called by SADA as Obenfo Marcus Garvey. Why is Garvey called "Obenfo?" It is because he is the only African who predicted the UNITED STATES OF AFRICA long before most of the so called leaders started to realize even our continental independence. Now think of what he did and you will come to the same conclusion. Garvey should be memorialized in every place where Africans live. He is Obenfo because he was a God sent messenger to give Africans the right to live as human being within our own environment; with our own government a la made UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Gradually, we are getting there if people like Akwasi Akyeamponog will not shy awa from his Africanity. So far of all the people who have lived here in USA, Marcus Garvey is unique in understanding th LAWS OF LARGE NUMBERS, THE LAWS OF UNITY, THE LAWS OF SOWING AND HARVESTING AND THE LAWS OF FOWARD EVER BACKWARD NEVER.
UNITED WE STAND DIVIDED WE FALL
AFRICA MUST UNITE AND AFRICANS MUST UNITE.
FORWARD EVER BACKWARDS NEVER.
Dr. Kofi Agyapong
