Hujambo Esteemed Family: On behalf of the World African Diaspora Union (WADU) Executive, we thank to you and other members of the Pan African family for your continued support of our work and thus making a clarion call for you to actively engage in the leadership of WADU in 2010. Surely, this is an appeal for those with a strong commitment to Pan Africanism to join the ranks of the highly respected leadership in WADU to finally bring to bear the power of unifying the African Diaspora with Africa. Your decision to integrate with WADU, while maintaining the integrity of your organization, will create a political, economic and cultural ‘whirlwind’ for African empowerment, in the spirit of Marcus Garvey. WADU Memorandum of Union (MOU) and membership forms are available for those who are willing and ready to move forward to build Pan Africanism, here and now. This letter comes during our 5th anniversary celebration when our President, Ambassador Dudley Thompson, has requested that the WADU Executive begin acting on the WADU 2007 Resolution that calls for the restructuring of WADU by 2010. The 2007 Jamaica Summit Resolution calls for WADU to expand its leadership to integrate communities and organizations across the African Diaspora, leading to a wider representation of WADU for the election of our next President by 2015.When WADU was initiated in 2004, we envisioned first creating a model leadership for the African Diaspora. Our President and other veterans answered the call and established WADU to forge this union. As you are aware, Dr. Dudley Thompson took lead of WADU in 2007 with the highest qualifications of any living Pan Africanist. He is recognized as one of the African Union Eminent Elders of Africa and a participant of the 5th Pan African Congress with those like Kwame Nkrumah, Amy Garvey and WEB Dubois. He was an Attorney for Jomo Kenyatta during the Mau Mau revolution and was also ambassador to numerous African countries. Since his election, he along with other key veteran leaders of the Pan African Movement, have pushed WADU at deliberate speed to establish the fundamentals of restoring our greatness as a people. The restructuring of WADU in 2010 is a logical step to advance the reunion of our people, globally. Briefly, WADU restructuring calls for us to operate in a Triade/Pyramid Power system of: 1. A High Council of veteran elders of the movement to decisively engage the AU and provide wisdom and guidance to the Diaspora; 2. an Executive Council of veteran leaders and intellectuals to develop and promote a comprehensive Pan African economic, cultural and political agenda for the Diaspora; and 3. a General Council (Congress) of representatives from local Diaspora Pan African and Africancentric communities and organizations to create new initiatives and implement Pan African goals and objectives. Due to the significance of Africa to WADU, those who have a special interest in serving the African Diaspora as representatives to the AU (ECOSOCC) will be rigorously and dutifully processed by a council of Pan African veteran elders and leaders. In conclusion, as we enter 2010, the time is now to act together to fulfill our destiny because ‘Africa is Calling’ for a union of African people, at Home and Abroad. Together, we will advance our historic and ancestral mission to rebuild our civilizations. Those who are ready for this sacred union of African people should request a WADU Memorandum of Union (MOU) by contacting our Chief Secretariat Baba Watusi Branch at WADUPAM.ORG or call 718-523-3312/404-527-7756. We hope to hear from you soon and to see you at our 2010 Summit in Ethiopia in July. KWAHERI (blessings), MGANGA (Min.) P.D. Menelik Harris World African Diaspora Union WADUPAM.ORG P.O.
