Kenny-2.jpg“I won’t apologise for what I did” –  says political prisoner Kenny Motsamai

Political prisoner Kenny Motsamai insists that he will never apologise for killing a white traffic officer in Rustenburg during a bank robbery that was sanctioned by the Azanian People’s Liberation Army (APLA) – the military wing of the Pan African Congress (PAC).

“I won’t apologise for anything, there is no white person that has ever apologised for apartheid,” he says.

DRUM met up with Motsamai who was released on full day parole on Wednesday after spending 27 years in jail.

He was in a jovial spirit and surrounded by his doting family and cadres of the PAC.

“I kissed the floor because I wanted to show God gratitude for my freedom,” he says.

His first meal was a McDonald’s hamburger.

“In prison we eat pap and bread, it has been a long time since I had a tasty, expensive meal like that burger,” he adds.

He received R40 000 from the well-known Pastor Mboro (real name Paseka Motsoeneng) to start a car wash business, as well as prayers for his new house which has been given to him by the state.

Despite receiving support from the EFF, Motsamai says he has no plans of joining the political party and the EFF does not expect him to do so.

EFF members visited him in prison and supported his family with food; they also offered him a job, which is a requisite for his parole... CONTINUE FOR MORE

[COMMENT BY THE EDITOR: The is what a Political Prisoner looks like. A political prisoner is not someone incarcerated in a prison in the USA who have their supporters bombard us with requests to sign petitions for parole. Why would one parole a political prisoner? What would a political prisoner give up to be paroled? -- Kwasi Akyeampong.]

  • Nothing but BlackLove for Baba Kenny Motsamai. and Nothing but Admiration for his fortitude and Revolutionary African Spirit.  However Baba Kwasi Akyeampong, the resolution and tactics for ending our oppression, subjugation and "legal" bondage (incarceration) is not coming to be the same for all political prisoners or for fighting all devils enforcing our oppression, subjugation and "legal" bondage (incarceration).  We should Never lost sight of the FACT that Dr. King was not all right in his approach and tactics for end our oppression, subjugation and "legal" bondage (incarceration) and Brother Minister Malcolm X were not all wrong in his approach and tactics for end our oppression, subjugation and "legal" bondage (incarceration).  Not all New Afrikans buy-into being New Afrikan.

If distrust is stronger than trust and envy stronger than adulation, respect or admiration, should We be trying to strengthen Trust, Adulation, Respect within our family/community? The Blackman after receiving the WL indoctrination has carry on the internal divisiveness for hundreds of years, and will continue to refueling that divisiveness if We continue to degrade ourselves according to the subtleties of our WL indoctrination.

Knowing better SHOULD stimulate us to do better (consistently).  Asante for what you did for New Afrikans, and We look to the Creator and the Ancestors to lead you to greater contributions to our Liberation Struggle.  May You know the Peace & Prosperity of Shared BlackLove.

    • What does a 'political prisoner" in the USA gain when he is paroled?
      Paroles are conditional.
So, what does a political prisoner in the USA have to give up to be paroled?
What are the conditions and terms of his parole?
Kenny Matsamai was parole on his own terms - not the terms of the parole board.
Nat Turner went to the gallows on his own terms. "I rather die a free man than live a slave", said Nat Turner.
So what will our "political prisoners" be freed standing tall and proud for acts of conscience or be forgiven as criminals?
