Africa Intellectuals To Meet In Pretoria On Challenges

More than 100 scholars, social activists, government officials and business leaders are expected to attend the 3 day conference.

Over 100 African intellectuals from across the continent and in the diaspora will gather in Pretoria on Thursday to mull African solutions to African problems.

"The main aim of the conference is to create awareness of why Africans must unite and respond to their challenges," Prof. Mammo Muchie, one of the event's organizers, told Anadolu Agency on Wednesday.

"We have been holding similar conferences for the last four years," he said.

Muchie, a research professor at Tshwane University of Technology, said the three-day conference would draw delegates from across the continent and the world.

"Papers will be presented in both English and French," he added.

The event is being organized by the Africa Institute of South Africa, a new division of the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC), in collaboration with several institutions and government departments.

Former South African President Thabo Mbeki will open the conference, later sharing the podium with Salim Ahmed Salim, the former secretary-general of the Organization of African Unity.

More than 100 scholars, social activists, government officials and business leaders are expected to attend.

"With the hosting of this conference at this time, Africa is taking the moment to reflect on its achievements in the quest for solutions to its multifaceted social, economic and political problems," Temba Masilela, deputy CEO of the HSRC, said in a statement.

"The conference will probe the potential of African Solutions for African Problems for instilling real change nationally, regionally and continentally," he added.

The conference will conclude by unveiling an "African renaissance and unity" manifesto meant to chart the way forward in Africa's quest for greater integration and economic and political unity.

  • revolutionary greetings,

"The main aim of the conference is to create awareness of why Africans must unite and respond to their challenges," Prof. Mammo Muchie, one of the event's organizers

the awareness has already been identified: global white supremacy in its many faces. and the only way to respond is through the process of revolution, as history has clearly shown. anything less is tantamount to betrayal.

"We have been holding similar conferences for the last four years," he said.

incorrect! WE have been gathering for almost a century. so, what's the problem? there's been too many conferences. WE need revolutionary strategic classes. timeout for all the intellectual masturbating.

Muchie, a research professor at Tshwane University of Technology, said the three-day conference would draw delegates from across the continent and the world.

muchie's only concern should be in taking the technology i assume he has accumulated and applying it to the peoples of afrika. no one else! OUR continent has all the ingredients WE need. and if the euro-amerikkkans want WE got, WE'll do business with them under OUR own terms, in exchange for machinary and mechanics.

"Papers will be presented in both English and French," he added.

keeping in mind the participation of those of US who have been disconnected from the Motherland, the languages of any position papers ought to be in the native tongues, read through translators and then disseminated in non-Afrikan languages for diasporians.

The event is being organized by the Africa Institute of South Africa, a new division of the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC), in collaboration with several institutions and government departments.

first thing comes to mind is what and who funds the AISA or HSRC? it must be a revolutionary think tank, with the sole purpose of genuine liberation. its function ought to be pan-Afrikan nothing less or WE'll continue to wallow in white supremacy.

Former South African President Thabo Mbeki will open the conference, later sharing the podium with Salim Ahmed Salim, the former secretary-general of the Organization of African Unity.

what has mbeki done for the masses of brothers and sistars who have inherited a legacy of apartheid, that WE can point to and say made a difference in their lives beside the propping up of a bourgeoisie class in blackface? and has there been an outgrowth of the OAU today? and if so, it whatever that is revolutionary?

More than 100 scholars, social activists, government officials and business leaders are expected to attend.

There has to be a weeding out process from among this group of over a hundred, who more than likely have been institutionalized with a western mind-set, which means that they're the ones from among whom the neo-puppet flunkies will be put in place to continue to do the enemy's bidding. capitalism is the enemy.  the people must decide who's who, no matter how many degrees they have.

"With the hosting of this conference at this time, Africa is taking the moment to reflect on its achievements in the quest for solutions to its multifaceted social, economic and political problems," Temba Masilela, deputy CEO of the HSRC, said in a statement.

then, there must have been a scoping out of the progress against white supremacy in concrete terms, and not in the abstract. and perhaps, those achievements can be explained.

"The conference will probe the potential of African Solutions for African Problems for instilling real change nationally, regionally and continentally," he added.

the potential has been demonstrated before by the likes of cabral, fanon, lumumba, winnie, and biko. OUR main potential is in OUR youth, who must be taught revolutionary principles, tactics and strategies. they are the most powerful and energetic.

The conference will conclude by unveiling an "African renaissance and unity" manifesto meant to chart the way forward in Africa's quest for greater integration and economic and political unity.

such a renaissance ought to celebrate and highlight the past revolutionary struggles, successes and failures, which must be implemented in any manifesto, in accordance with the masses of the people since they have been the ones who have suffered the most or have felt the brunt of the blow of white global supremacy. and any integration ought to include the arab enslavement and further mistreatment of afrikan people on the continent. OUR economic structure should be exclusive of capitalism. again, capitalism is the enemy. those of US who have been in the struggle are not going to rid OUR people of white capitalism and replace it with black capitalism! social collectivism (and not marxist-brand socialism) must be the order of the day. class antagonisms must be abolished. at all costs.

anyone who has a problem with the above has a problem with the masses of the people's need for genuine liberation, one that will eventually cost US some blood. no one can give US liberation. and sure not the leaders of the white supremacist global system of annihilation.

    UHURU SASA!
