Thursday, April 2nd, Amina Baraka will address the organization’s general assembly on the topic “Women, Black History and Revolution” at 6:30pm. This is the rescheduled presentation that was postponed in March due to inclement weather.
This powerful presentation will be held at Abyssinian Baptist Church, 224 West Kinney Street, Newark.
Amina Baraka is the co-editor of Confirmation, the groundbreaking anthology of Black Women Writers, author of the pioneering Kwanzaa Song, and the author of the legendary poetic battle hymn for the working class Song For The Masses.
She was a founding member and leader in the Committee For A United Newark and the Congress of Afrikan Peoples, among other revolutionary vehicles.
“We are truly honored to have Amina Baraka with us,” said founding chairman Lawrence Hamm.
“Everyone, please come, notetaking ready,” he finished emphatically…
