Wednesday, May 13 will mark the 30th Anniversary of the MOVE Massacre in Philadelphia when 11 Black men,women and children were brutally murdered by the government. Attached is an article I wrote, "MAY, 13 1985: LESSON FROM THE FIERY FURNACE," that was published in the May 8 edition of SCOOP (the headline in SCOOP was changed by someone). Do not believe what you read/hear in the media about MOVE. I have known and worked with them since the 90s on the movement to free activist/journalist Mumia Abu Jamal. They are conscious, strong, spiritual, beautiful, clean-living people. The lesson from the fiery furnace I am trying to impart is that the same thing that happened to MOVE can be perpetrated against any one of us, anywhere at any time.Don't be fooled by the propaganda! Think for yourself. As Ramona said today in a WURD AM interview, since when has this system cared about Black neighbors or communities? That was used as an excuse to murder strong Black people who spoke the truth that they wanted to silence.
Please try to attend the commemoration at First District AME Plaza. If you cannot attend lift up a prayer of healing or pour libation for the massacred MOVE Family who are now Ancestors. Their names are Tree Africa, Netta Africa, Tomaso Africa, Phil Africa, Delesha Africa, Frank Africa, Conrad Africa, Theresa Africa, Rhonda Africa, Raymond Africa and founder of MOVE, John Africa.
John Africa on "Life" -- All living beings, things that move, are equally important, whether they are human beings, dogs, birds, fish, trees, ants, weeds, rivers, wind or rain. To stay healthy and strong, life must have clean air, clear water and pure food. If deprived of these things, life will cycle to the next level, or as the system says, ‘die’.
