MXCC CHAIR SADIKI AT SHABAZZ HOUSE!

On Friday, March 20th, the scholarly journal Socialism And Democracy is hosting a powerful roundtable on mass incarceration and police terror featuring Dequi Kioni Sadiki, our chair, her husband, recently released political prisoner Sekou Odinga, and others!
This roundtable, entitled ‘Nothing To Lose But Our Chains-Black Resistance and the Roots of Mass Incarceration,’ will center around a book signing for a special edition of the journal on these issues, on political prisoners held here in the United States, and on the future of the movement for social justice, with special guest editors Mumia Abu-Jamal, the world’s most renown political prisoner, and Prof. Johanna Fernandez of NYC’s Bring Mumia Home Campaign.
This powerful roundtable engagement will take place at the Malcolm X/Dr. Betty Shabazz Memorial Center, 3940 Broadway. The booksigning will take place from 6-7pm. The roundtable will begin at 7.
The roundtable and journal was recently spotlighted in The Huffington Post.

Others participating in the panel will include the incredible Laura Whitehorn, herself a former political prisoner, Nyles Fort, and Arielle Newton, founder-editor in chief of Black Millenials…
