Synopsis

Inspired by true events from 1944, a time of segregation and unfairness in America. Nowhere is that more evident than in the United States Navy. African American seamen are recruited to work in a Navy shipyard in a small town named Port Chicago (30 miles north of San Francisco) where dangerous artillery is loaded onto ships to support the military during World War II. It was a dark time in history where 320 seamen, of which 220 were African American, lost their lives and was possibly the beginning of a movement that led to desegregation in the Navy.

Port Chicago is a story of love for Country, the American Dream and a quest for Equality and Fairness.
