Join us for part 6 of our #BlackLivesMatter Series

How do we define freedom? What does a "#BlackLivesMatter community" look like? Building on the past discussions in the #BlackLivesMatter Sankofa Circle Discussion series, this session will challenge participants to explore various perspectives of freedom and liberation for people of African descent.

We will introduce a brief video clip from clinical psychologist and past president of the Association of Black Psychologists, Dr. Naim Akbar entitled Imaginary Freedomthat challenges us to critically analyze the difference between freedom and "progress" in America.

Participants are encouraged to bring and share an excerpt, poem, encouraging word, song, quote or artistic expression that best describes what #BlackLivesMatter means to you.

Sankofa Discussion Circles are for all who identify as African descendent people. Refreshments will be served (on a first come first served basis). Please RSVP so we can plan accordingly.
