Dear friends

As the New Year begins, JOIN US for a 24 Hour Action. We will bear witness, reading the names and stories of over 150 people killed or brutalized by police with impunity.  Please sign up if you would like to read some of the names & stories.

WE WILL NOT REST!
POLICE BRUTALITY IS DEADLY...

MIKE BROWN was "unarmed" and walking home.
ANTHONY BAEZ was "unarmed" and playing football.
RAMARLEY GRAHAM was "unarmed" in his bathroom.
AIYANA JONES was "unarmed" and sleeping on the couch.
AKAI GURLEY was "unarmed" and walking up his stairs.

EVERY DAY is a risk for Black and Brown people, coming and going, while living daily life in a culture of racist violence and police brutality.
WHO WILL BE NEXT?

It is a WINTER OF RESISTANCE.
Vigilant, Wide Awake, WE WILL NOT BE SILENT.
We CARRY THE NAMES, We IMAGINE JUSTICE.

Signs will be provided

Again and again, we "catch our breath" and take to the streets to demonstrate our collective outrage, at one Grand Jury decision after another not to indict a police officer for a brutal murder of an unarmed civilian. Officer Daniel Pantaleo choked Eric Garner to death, in broad daylight in NYC. All eyes can see, and all ears can hear Eric Garner plead "I can't breathe", over and over, until he loses consciousness.

Our path is clear. In "our moral certainty" we continue to stand in solidarity with those in resistance in New York City, in Ferguson and elsewhere, who fight for justice for the countless precious lives of loved ones, tragically lost but not forgotten.

WE WILL NOT BE SILENT is an artist/activist collective that has been in existence since 2006. Through the creative use of language embodied on shirts and emboldened on signs held up in public spaces, we respond to current social justice issues, encouraging creative, direct public-actions where many people can participate.
