Who is to apologize to Carrell Johnson, III

Magnificent news: The robbery charges are being dropped! Is The Criminal Justice System Working For Black Folks Or Is the System Criminal? By: Duborah Oya Bakr, Afrikan Definitions Sunday, February 1, 2009, On this the first day of Black History Month 2009, we find our YoungBlood, Carrell Johnson, III, 18 year-old Harlem youth was shot in the chest on Saturday, January 24th around 12:30 – 1AM on 140th Street between Adam Clayton Powell Blvd. & 8th Ave., for his "Marmot" coat, was found to be innocent of the robbery charges lodged against him on Wednesday, January 27th. The 32nd Precinct enforced a downtown Robbery Squad warrant. Carrell Johnson Jr. & Denise Johnson, Carrell's parents, says, "We do not believe our son committed these robberies. Mrs. Johnson reports that her & Carrell have a deep and honest relationship. He told me he did not rob anyone. The Johnson's do not believe there was any warrant issued." Because the Black community responded to the CALL to assist the Johnson's ~ the robbery charges, unofficially, have been dropped. It was announced that the suspect had been captured. Chuck Berkley, member of 100 Black Law Enforcers Who Care, reported to Carrell's parents "It is said he looks like the suspect. A few witnesses, who identified your son has recanted, and now join several robbery victims that another person committed the alleged robberies. Who is to apologize to Carrell Johnson, III Even as the innocence of Carrell is known to the Detectives from downtown & the Captain of the 32nd Precinct, when the Johnson's' arrived at the 32nd to receive an "all day pass" to see their son they were, again, denied. Calls to Berkley rectified the abuse shortly after the call. Yet, upon arrival to Harlem Hospital their son was stilled shackled. Since the shooting Carrell's mother was able to see him for 15 minutes on Wednesday, 1/28/8, both parents were refused visits. Carrell father said, "I rather my wife see him. He knows I out here too." The relief that was felt was solely dampened to know Carrell remained shackled as they were forced to leave him with a police guard. Carrell, III, had a rough life even though his parent have been married for over 20 years, raising 6 children a few grown & gone. Denise did not want Carrell to have a "Marmat" coat. Another family members felt they would help Carrell because he said he would put ½, i.e., $350 and the other half would be contributed. This family member may have wanted to ease the hopelessness that is festering in the soul of Carrell. This young Black boy, just turned legally man, has been arrested twenty-one (21) times with countless encounters with New York Police Departments officers in the last two (2) years. Since 16 years old, Carrell is one of the tens of thousands of Black youth who lives in Harlem, which is an area where I ascertain that Black Codes are enforce by NYPD. Thus, Carrell is a target for abuse & is a victim to the excessive feeder mechanism to the prison industrial complex. Police Brutality is an historical problem. Several Centuries\since The Maafra, tens of millions Black victims fail to receive justice when they are wrongly arrested and held. This historical analysis causes some to protest. A preacher's scowled at the Johnson's to actually suggest, " … police brutality is not their son's problem nor their problem. It is the result of their relationship with God that is the cause of the Johnson's. Carrell Johnson, III has been arrested 21 times in 2 years since the age of 16. He has NEVER been convicted of any one of these arrests. This Christian Preacher's praxis has not answered the question: "With the disproportionate representation of Black Men & Women incarcerated throughout the USA, does this Christian logic conclude that white folks are closer to God because they are not adjudicated in the same degree and manner as African Americans by the US Judicial System? The preacher expressed, "oppression is never to be mentioned again; the families' relationship with God is why Carrell is suffering….It is his suffering," the Preacher says, " is indicative to his wrong relationship with God." He further believes that oppression by Black folk do not need to be mentioned since Presidents Obama's Inauguration The status quo dismisses millions of criminal acts committed by Whites. Whites are the majority of drug dealers. Whites are the majority of drug abusers. Whites are the majority of criminals. However, Whites do not proportionately, much less disproportionately, represent their statistical majority of criminal activities. To investigate how to bring equity & justice for Carrell & his parents, this questions remains ~ Who is to apologize to Carrell? His parents have nurtured him continuously. The Carrells home was demolished by NYPD. No warrant was ever produced, and the Civil Complaint Board found the Police Not Guilty. The Johnson's had to live outside their apartment for a month to restore the destruction caused by NYPD. The Johnson were seeking avenues for redress when Carrell was shot in the chest on Saturday, 1/24/09. Monday, February 2nd, 2009 at 8PM on Harambee Radio, http:/harambeeradio.com, I will be hosting: Afrikan Definitions to interview the Carrell's parents, Carrell Jr. & Denise. Mr. Chuck Berkley, member of 100 Black Law Enforcers Who Care, was extremely instrumental in assisting the Johnson's. He is currently running for the 9th District in Manhattan challenging Inez Dickens this upcoming City Counsel election. Chuck Berkley will also be interviewed. *|*<~~ *|~<~~ >~|~<{ { ~~>~|*< Congo Square ~N~ El Barrio Your Sista~N~Spirit ~ Duborah - Duborah@gmail.com Please visit my site: My Space: http://www.myspace.com/maatensebek Harambee Radio & Television Network: http://harambeeradio.ning.com/profile/MaatenSebek Egbe Orishaye Ning: http://egbeorishaye.ning.com/profile/MaatenSebek The Spirit Never Dies *|~<~~ !!
