George Washington was the father of our country. He confessed to chopping down the cherry tree because he could not tell a lie. But if he had opposed slavery while it was flourishing, he would have been thrown out of office on his ear. He was trapped in the evil slavery.
For over sixty two years, the mighty United States of America has imposed devastating embargo on the poor little island of Cuba. Year after year, the UN General assembly have voted overwhelmingly against this US embargo. The latest vote in 2021 was 184 to 2 against the US embargo. Embargo is worse than sanctions. Sanctions are worse than war crimes. War kills soldiers. Sanctions kill poor innocent people. In Venezuela, US Sanctions killed over 40,000 innocent men, women and children in the first year alone.
US sanctions are the moral equivalent of slavery. Biden cannot get bi-partisan support for the Build Better bill which would benefit all Americans. But, these illegal sanctions gets bipartisan support easily. As a matter of fact, if Biden were to lift the embargo on Cuba, he, like George Washington, would also be thrown out on his ear. He is trapped in the evil sanctions. That is now the American way. I am so ashamed.
