I’m wise to Trump.  Megalomaniac Trump’s ultimate target is the UN. One of the first things he did when he came to office was to dismantle the Iran treaty. All the other signatories, the United Kingdom, Russia, France, and China—plus Germany) and the European Union did not support Trump’s  action. The sanctions have driven Iran's economy into severe recession, with oil exports largely stopping, major foreign companies pulling out to avoid US penalties and the value of the local currency plummeting.

The next international agreement that Trump broke was the Paris Climate Agreement.  This agreement, for the first time, brought all nations into a common cause to undertake ambitious efforts to combat climate change and adapt to its effects, with enhanced support to assist developing countries to do so. As such, it charted a new course in the global climate effort.  It was negotiated by representatives of 196 countries at the 21st Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC in Le Bourget, near Paris, France, and adopted by consensus on 12 December 2015.

Ever since becoming president, Trump has  also pursued an international policy of bullying numerous countries. His favorite tool is sanctions. In addition to Iran, he has imposed crippling sanctions on over 39 countries. US sanctions against Venezuela is responsible for over 40,000 deaths in less than one year. Why bother kill with bombs when you can kill with sanctions? Especially now in the time of the COVID-19 pandemic.  Now, the US endangers the whole world with sanctions intended to limit access to healthcare for 1/3 of the world's population. For many of these countries, sanctions have significantly hampered their efforts to respond to the virus, limiting access to medical supplies, test kits and information about the virus. So, while all over the world, countries are coming together to fight the pandemic, Trump is exploiting it to kill people.

So, in order to kill even more people, he has withdrawn from yet another international organization. This time it is the World Health Organisation, the organization whose responsibility includes organizing and helping the world’s fight against the pandemic. Trump has already withdrawn financial support in an obvious move to undermine its so important mission at a time like this. Poor countries, or as Trump calls them, “shithole countries” will suffer most. Such a cruel act is unbelievable!

In America, conditioned by his many previous deranged acts, there was distressingly little protest. He has got Americans just where he wants them.  He is unstoppable with his rubber stamp Senate. He is now ready for his next international power play. The writing is on the wall.  He will withdraw the US from the United Nations!  Rule Trumplandia, Trumplandua rules the world. Heaven help us all!
